Putting Satan in His Place

Quote  |  Reply

My friend Denna (one of the Moderators) shared the following with me.

We need to put Satan in his place daily.

We need to keep God as the center of our life.

Have a little box (it can be decorated with wrapping paper).

When you start your day, begin praying over yourself, pull Satan and any negative thoughts (negativity) and put it in the box.

Lay hands on your forehead and pray for your peace of mind.  Pray for positive thoughts.  Pray for a sound mind.

Lay hand on your lips.  Pray to protect what comes out of your mouth so that you do not offend.  Pray not to speak negativity.  Pray to not speak evil of yourself.  Keep in mind that Satan does not know the thoughts of your mind until you speak them.  Then he will twist and use your thoughts in a way to try to destroy you.

Lay your hand over your heart.  Pray for God to dwell in the center of your soul.  Pray for the energy to fulfil the accomplishments that are set for your day.

Then lay hand on your joints and pray for mobility.  Pray for the swelling and pain to cease.  They do not have a place in your life.

You can then add the appetite and calorie control.  Pray for wisdom for healthy food choices.

You can even write down the things and put them in the box.

We cannot let Satan destroy us!  He will do everything in his power to take us away from what God wants for us.

I went through a period in my life where I was contemplating suicide on a daily basis.  However the reality of Hell always stopped me from going through with it.

At first my therapist did not see the importance of this daily practice.  But then again, she did not have God as the center of her life.

During my therapy, I had taken a shoe box and decorated it.  My morning routine included prayer for myself.  Sometimes, I would write the problem in my life on a piece of paper and put it in the box.  Or I would visualize the problem and pull the issues that I was dealing with in my life and stuffed them in the box.  Some of the problems may have been revealed during therapy.

I had thoughts of suicide daily.  So at the start of my day, I would put suicide in the box.  Then one day, I noticed that I did not dwell on the thoughts of trying to kill myself.

At the end of my therapy, I ask my pastor if we could burn this box.  A symbolism of destroying what almost destroyed me.

Some of the verses that helped me during the darkest period in my life......

2 Timothy 1:7  (KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Denna, what an awesome testimony!
Praise the Lord! My heart rejoices hearing how He brought you from the pit  and set you high on the Rock!  He did that for me too!

Praise the Lord, all that is within me, Praise His Holy Name!

I am at such peace right now.  I do not have a "real" box yet but my imaginary box worked just as well this morning.

I am not going to let the anxiety from the fire get to me.  Satan will not detour me from my healthy goals today - mind, words, food, etc.

This is wonderful!  Thank you for posting!
