P90X Day 2 Anyone want to buddy up for motivation?
I'm on day 2 of P90X (Lean) and wanted to know if anyone else is doing it or just starting like myself. Looking for someone to keep me motivated and would love to keep the other person motivated.

I am doing a hybrid of P90X and some other "stuff" but am happy to chat with you about it as you go along. I did a round of it from April-June and felt and looked great. Then I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism- gained a bunch of weight just in my stomach out of the blue and am pretty miserable about it. My meds are a nightmare so I am pretty much starting from scratch. I personally LOVE Kenpo and Core Synergistics. I sub Plyo for Cardio X and HATE it but it is a great workout. I'd highly recommend it!

I'm only on day 4 and actually was called into work early so was not able to do the Yoga X today....will have to try to squeeze it in tonight after work.
When you did the 1st round did you do the lean or classic? Did you do the eating plan as well?
I'll add you as a friend so we can mail back and forth. Or would you prefer to just keep this forum topic open?

I didn't follow the eating plan. I ate like I normally do which is a lot of fruits, veggies, salad, chicken... the one thing I started doing differently was eating a lot of egg whites... I just know myself and know that I am not a "follow a prescribed diet" kind of girl.
I did the Lean version but mixed it up like I mentioned. I did Plyo in place of Cardio X and liked that change (well, I hate Plyo actually but it was good for results!).
I am supposed to do Yoga tomorrow... I HATE it! I generally do the first part with all the moving ashtanga poses and then I do parts of the second half (I skip a lot of the stretching b/c I simply don't have the time to devote 90 min to one workout!).
We can definitely email or chat right here-- whatever you like. I'm not sure how much I am going to stick to the schedule 100% because I am doing a few other workouts mixed in but I am definitely doing Plyo, Kenpo and Core days and probably the Chest workout too...
Are you doing anything in addition to this or just this? I workout at a gym everyday after work and on days I take classes there I probably won't do the P90X program.
Hey My BF and I are starting on Monday. I have done the classic version about a year ago. I saw awesome results and felt awesome! but unfortunatley have not kept it up,...I have gained 15 pounds that I am really wanting to shed....I didn't follow the eating plan exactly,..i pretty much do a 30/30/40 diet trying to eat as clean as possible. I did incorporate some optimum nutrition 100% whey protein shakes which worked well. I felt like the recovery drink had too much sugar for me. I would love to have some accountability and motivation. We will look awesome at Christmas!
Did the dreaded Yoga X this morning... Not having done it for a few months it kicked my ass... I hate the last of the first 45 min poses.... Killer on the legs!

I did the yoga this am as well. Wow 90 minutes!!! I haven't really done yoga before, very little....so it was a challenge, but most challenging was keeping my attention. I definately worked up a sweat and felt great after I was done.
I do eat egg whites a couple times a week, but have since increased the amount after starting p90x. I am doing this program only, nothing else. A walk here or there but nothing more.

This is my first round ever of p90x and enjoying it so far. I'm doing the Lean and on day 5. Today was yoga, wow 90 minutes! Thats a long workout. I was supposed to do it yesterday but was called into work early, so had to do it today. I've never done any sort of yoga class before, so it was a bit challenging, but felt good once completed. Bring on Plyo tomorrow! Yippee!

I skipped Legs & Back today and did Kenpo instead largely b/c it's easier to do the "louder" workouts on the weekend when I don't have to worry about waking the girls really early... Plyo and Kenpo wake the whole house when I get up at 4am during the week so I try to do them on the weekends... Anyway, I love Kenpo so that was a good workout. I'm off to the gym in a bit for some elliptical and weight lifting time... Hopefully I'll start seeing the scale move in a downward direction soon!
I did Legs & Back today. My buns are screaming already! Do you use the bands or do you use the pull up bar?
Tomorrow is Kenpo. I've never done it so curious to see how it goes.
Have a great workout at the gym. I give you credit for doing double workouts! Keep up the good work! We will look great for Xmas!

WOW. 90 minutes of yoga. How long are the p90x workouts usually and is there one to do everyday for 90 days?
Keep it up, everyone! I'm in Week 11 of Round 1, so I can definitely remember being where you are all at right now :)
I hated Yoga-X at first because I just thought it was dumb. I'm converted now, and look forward to it because I just know that I'm soooo close to being better at holding those positions. Adam is my hero and I want to be him when I grow up ;)
Sonny- I use the bands b/c we don't have a pull up bar... the bands are definitely easier than pull ups but I do get a good workout nonetheless. I did Legs & Back yesterday and had a long workout at the gym. Today I took a break and will just do the gym workout after work and then tomorrow is Core synergistics again.
How'd Kenpo go?
Sounds like everyone is on track! Today is day 3 for me in the classic, second time around. I thought it would be like starting all over again, but I have to say,..It doesn't feel quite as hard this time around,..maybe because I know what to expect. Today was shoulders and biceps. I actually am looking forward to the workouts becaue I know I will see results and I know it makes me feel good,..but I really don't like the early morning workout days. Food is going pretty well too! Keep up the good work everyone!
I'm on round 2 of Lean (but I do Plyo in place of CardioX).... I chose Lean largely b/c I LOVE core synergistics and think it's actually tougher than the chest workout that replaces it in Classic (at least for me it's tougher).
Today was Core Synergistics day and b/c I woke up late (alarm didn't go off) I had to skip the bonus moves and the dreya roll. I'm off to the gym after work and will do some core work there to make up for what I missed after I hit the elliptical...
Beach Chica- I agree that the second time around it doesn't feel as hard-- I think it might be that I know what to expect like you said. Did you have great results the first time around?
okay...days 3 And 4 done..it was back and arms yesterday and kenpo today....i did the back and arms at 5am after having next to no sleep,..(I do not do well without sleep!) .so I was not so excited about it, but thanks to my BF,...I got it done! Kenpo at lunch today!...woohoo,..made me feel better I love this one,..I did almost everything....not all the X jumps. My muscles were pretty tight so the warm up was brutal but fabulous!
Momtograceandclara: Core synergystics is super tough! and I LOVE the dreya roll...hate you missed it. I did have really good results the 1st time...I had already lost about 35 pounds when I started it last time just walking, swimming and eating well, but I lost an additional 15 and really saw my body shape change and my energy increase. I finally lost enough weight and gained enough muscle that I could see the change in my thighs...that is the 1st place for me to gain weight and last to lose. Unfortunatley, we kind of slacked off and the end and didn't finish strong...not really taking pics or measurements or anything. Since then (a little more than a year ago) my exercise has been hit or miss,..haven't really been able to get in a good routine....my nutrition...not horrible,..but not consistently good choices...I have been tired, moody and not the most positive person (i know, for me, these things are byproducts ofnot exercising). I have also gained about 15 pounds back and only have 1 pair of pants that fit. So,..here I am,...back for round 2 and loving it. How about you? good results the first time?
Sonny,..how is it going for you? Feeling the workouts yet? how is your food intake going? Did you decide to do the p90x food plan?

Yoga is the longest that I've encountered so far. The other ones are about 50-60 minutes. But remember its 5-10 minutes of warm up and 5-7 minutes of stretching at the end. It is time consuming, but I just keep thinking of all the calories I burned during that time!

Hi, sorry its been sooooo long. I've been away from work for over 1 week and had to pass on a couple of days of p90x due to some medical issues. Back on track now. Today was yoga...ugh! I just don't think I'm meant to be a yogi! ha..ha.. I get board, maybe I'm not doing it correctly. Tomorrow is back and arms. Do you use the bands or the pullup bar?
Eating is going okay.....I'm having troubles consuming all the calories...I'm not doing the 1800 but about 1400-1500, and I have to force myself to eat that! Due to all the protien I fill up really easy.
If any of you on the post are looking for a great snack (usually my breakfast) try this:
3 boiled eggs cut in half, discard all but 1/2 of 1 yolk. Place evenly in all egg halves, sprinkle salt, pepper and if desired dash of hot sauce in each one and top with 2 deli thin sliced smoked or honey turked (cut in pieces) in each half. 81 calories, .9 carbs, 2.5 fat, 14.1 grams of protein!!!!!

Adam is someone to look up to...man to have all that flexibility makes me dizzy!!! I get frustrated because I can't do the move where you put the hand behind your back and reach under your thigh with the other.....thank goodness I do this in my basement so no one sees me!! ha..ha.ha..
I'm hoping to become better at it, but still looking for away to keep myself focused.

Today I was called into work early and didn't have enough time to do p90x so I jumped on the eliptical for 30 minutes. Had a great sweat! Tomorrow will be back and arms.
