P90X DVDs

Quote  |  Reply
Anyone ever try these?  I saw an infomercial on them last weekend.

It?s a series of DVDs that concentrate on various muscle exercises.  They also have an Ab routine and a kempo style cardio routine.  It looked fairly interesting.

I've done the regular Power 90 DVD's and have found them to be great. It's a great workout, really challenging in both cardio and strength training. P90X is the next step in the Power 90 program.

I hope this helps.
I saw the infomercials for these too.  I've sort of hit a plateau when it comes to physical fitness.  I'm needing to really kick up my routine.  I'm estimating that i'm a little above average when it comes to my physical fitness level.  Are these P90X workouts going to be way beyond my capabilities?  I regularly do pretty intense kickboxing workouts, circuit training, plyo workouts, rebounding, yoga and pilates (i get bored easily ha!).  I've never done the regular power 90 workouts but from what i understand they're a lot of circuit training right?  Where are you downloading the workouts from by the way?

Julie
you need a pull up bar...that i dont have. they look tough! i am going to keep working with cathe friedrich and maybe in a few months i will be ready. they look challenging. definitely. would love to hear if anyone has done them.
I looked through a bunch of them and all you really need are some resistance bands.  You can simulate the pulls ups with specific band routines.  Just as you can replace the free weights with bands.

Each exercise has 3 people doing the weights / bars, and 1 person doing the same thing with the bands.  So you know how to place yourself.

While the exercise is not as precise and its probably better to use free weights, its better than nothing.

i got bands and free weights and a medball and stab ball and bars and steps and... hehe. im an equipment junky. i love free weights!

do you need 4' or 6' bands? im guessing 6.

bigtwinky, can i friend you? i see your comments and enjoy them but havent ever had the chance to chat. farbeit from me to overlook an opportunity :)
I just ordered them because I do like the fact that they have cardio, abs and strength training and the time is about 35 minutes (I think).  Havne't got them yet but should be by Monday.
i thought they were an hour. exciting! keep us posted deannad!
By all means, go ahead and friend me =)

The routines vary.  I have 11 "DVDs" in total.
Back+Biceps
Chest-back
Chest-shoulders
Legs-back
Shoulders-arms
KempoX
Plyometrics
XStretch
Yoga
Core Synergis
Ab Ripper

Ab Ripper is 15 mins.  Yoga is 1.5 hours (about).  Each of the other around about an hour.  Its loads of stuff.

I also got a chart that tells you what to do and when.  Its pretty much each day you have to do something.  First 3 weeks are Muscle DVD, cardio DVD rotation, with the last day being yoga or rest..  4th week is the plyo, yoga, core and such

I'm going out to buy some bands today, once I am done with my painting.  Probably going to start on Monday.
Okay, I can't remember but I may have just gotten the power90 and not the power 90x.  Will have to check my email and see.....

Pretty excited about it though!!!

PS I friended you guys too :).  I love having friends.....
ok! well i am now looking forward to both bigtwinky's p90x infomercial and deannad's p90 infomercial. living vicariously through you 2 for now with those particular workouts.

i spent that much (~$125+) on cathe friedrich dvds last month! im set for awhile. i friended both of you, btw. :)
Ok I'm jumping in here...I saw that infomercial a while back...and was sucked in...I really want the set but am afraid that like other tv ads they are not as great as they lead you to believe.  I do kickboxing twice a week, plyo, Cardio bootcamp and I even have Turbo Jam DVDs.

When you guys start these workouts please keep us posted.  If you don't mind I would like to friend you guys.

Oh one last comment on infomercials...does anyone else think they send out subliminal messages...I mean why do I get sucked in to so many??  HAHA
I tend to be a procrastinator, but I'll do my best to keep you guys posted.

I went to a few stores and didn't find any resistance bands, so I'll have to ebay for them.
We'll see how it works and I will keep you posted on how it works.  Another friend of mine on here had FANTASTIC results.  She posted both her before and after 30 day pics.....they are incredible.  I will have to see if she can "stop" by :).....

Jamie-friended you back :)
Hey all! I have been doing Power 90 (not Power90X) since Jan 25 and have had very good results . . .

You can see my pics if you scroll over my name, they're in my photo gallery.

I used it b4 & successfully lost also. Just got lazy & stopped and that's why I got fatter again!

They do recommend you do P90 first before doing P90X. Actually they have made an  inbetween one as well, called Power 90 Masters Series. It apparently really prepares you for the type of exercises in the X. I'm going to finish my 90 days of P90, then do the Masters, and then P90 X.

We have P90 X cuz my hubby was gonna do it. I used to throw the cardio dvd in once in a while when I got bored of the P90 cardio one. There is a fitness test for P90x and it says you should only do the program if you pass the test. I'll look for our dvds & see if I can scan the test from there & post it.

You can get info on all Beach Body programs at www.beachbody.com. I also have Turbo Jam & just started doing it in the evenings with a friend. It's pretty fun!

Ok found it online. Go here http://www.beachbody.com/text/content/v3/prod ucts/fitnessproducts/p90x/popup/p90xforyou.ht ml

and click on Is Power90X for you and then click to download the fitness test.

It's a program designed for those who have lost their weight & want to really rip it up, I think.

I would recommend P90 to everyone who has to lose weight & I think P90X would be good if you're really serious about taking your fitness to the next level.

Good Luck!

Dee
can anyone tell me where to get the p90x pdf files?
p90x is an exercise program that is on DVD, not pdf.

If you are looking for pirate downloads, I don't think this is the right place to get that information from.
Hey all, just got my dvd's last night.  Tried the first one this morning, and it was great!  We'll see how it goes now :)
I should be hopefully starting next week.

My wife loaded up the Kenpo-X cardio routine and liked it for the time it actually worked (seems that it froze half way through hehe).
I just started the program last night. im done with the second video.  Did any of you find yourself in pain and screaming to get 1 more push-up and pull-up during the first video?  I think these are going to be a great set of workout videos.  The Plyos are alot of fun, not as hard as day 1 though
