P90X..Any guys starting it? Monday Jan 12th

Quote  |  Reply

I am making the plunge Monday.  I see that there is a thread for the ladies so I thought I would see if any guys are doing this.  I am a little bigger (and older 40)than most people I see starting this (205 currently), but I started losing weight a year ago and after losing 40 pounds I need something else.  Anyway if anyone is starting and wants to commiserate let me know.  ;)

Congrats!!!........FYI...I bought an F6 heart rate monitor this last weekend....it says that I burned approx. 530 something calories during plyo....seem right?.....I was thinking plyo burns around 100 less than what my HR monitor says....any thoughts?

I don't know why but Friday and Saturday I was DEAD!!!  I had the two worst workouts yet because I had no energy what so ever.  I hope it was just a fluke.  Sunday and today I have been sore as heck......weird

Woo hoo!!!  Back on track with lots more energy this week.  Ready for round 2 of that Shoulders/Bicpes/tricpes which kicked my butt last week!!!  I think I am going to change it up and start doing 8-10 reps of more weight as opposed to 12-15......see if I can tell any difference.

That's awesome!  Way to go!  I can hardly believe I am wrapping up my 11th week.  I haven't lost much weight, but I am so much stronger up top and in my core.  I'm likin it!!  I'm switching back and forth between month 1 and month 2's exercises, and Chest and Back followed by Biceps and Shoulders is just killer.  I am listening to my body though, doing my best  and forgetting the rest!

The women are kicking our butts :-)  Not that that is a bad thing ;-)

Well, last week on Day 45 I finally completed Abripper every exercise every rep.  I never thought I would be able to do it but man it feels good!!!!!!

Way to go, dewcubs!  It is an awesome feeling!!!  I am wrapping up week 13...  So sad, it's almost over ;-)

Congrats, Dewcubs!  Ab Ripper is the devil.

Actually, I take that back.  Plyo is the devil, Ab Ripper is just Satan's Little Helper :)

I just started week 5. Shoulders, Chest, and Triceps did a number on me. Ab Ripper X did too. The guy in the commercial was right. If you define easy as 'sit on chair', then it's not easy.

ugh....did chest and back for the first time...man that sucked!!!  I gotta say that I am glad I haven't had to do that one every week, even though I probably need it because it was so tough.

I graduated :-)  I may not be ripped, but I sure am stronger.  I'm also not sure how I'm going to handle going from 6.5 hours a week down to 4 hours a week of tri training to start...  LOL!  I did a mile in the pool this morning and it felt like I had not taken 4 months off.  P90X is da bomb!

Just curious what anyones plans are after P90X?  I am taking a break because my late April and May schedule is just nuts and then I am going to either do it again for 90 days or start training for a triathalon.  I am pumped but also a little scared about the triathalon thing.  I wonder if I should do P90X a second time first and then train for the triathalon next spring.  What do you guys think?
