P90X Ladies

Hello All!  My name is Heather.  I am on week 4 of P90X.  I have found it very dissappointing at looking at the scale this week!  I feel like I am gaining weight from this program, but I do know I am building lots of muscle and my clothes are fitting a little better.  Anyone have the same problem right now?  I also want to ask about using the weight log--how often do you ladies weigh yourself and add it?

Hi Heather.  I hope you stayed on the program!  I'm just starting it, just finished my last workout for week 1.  I just wanted to tell you that the scale is not your enemy.  Don't worry about your weight, the important factor to look at is your body fat %.  Do you have a scale that measures that?  And if your clothes are fitting better, that means you're probably getting leaner and tighter, which is a much better indicator of good results than your weight.  It's natural to gain some weight anytime you start a new workout regimen because you're building muscle and perhaps retaining water as your new muscle fibers heal.

And always remember to weigh yourself at the same time each day, if you do it daily.  Weighing yourself first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom will give you a different number than weighing yourself right before bed.

So just remember, it's about how you feel and look, not about the numbers on the scale!

Hi, I'm on Day 57 of P90 (precursor to P90X), and I have lost 17.8 pounds. As of Day 30, I've lost more than 10-inches off of each thigh. I take my measurements again on Day 60...I know I've lost more inches. Keep up the good work. In 33 days I will start P90X. I have already purchased the program, but could not start it because I was so badly out of shape. P90 has helped me get into the routine of working out 6 days a week. To be honest, I'm not really strict on my diet. I prepare my own meals which may include a spaghetti pie or a homemade pizza. I eat one serving and do not go back for seconds. Also, I eat out once a week. On my free day, I can have candy, cake, pies or whatever else I craved that week. It's been working so far. I have total weight loss of 33 pounds and I have 67 pounds to go. I believe P90 and P90X will help me reach my goal.
