I am starting p90x on Jan 1 and are looking for a partner who is doing the same. Thought it would be fun to email on how it's going for 90 days.

I was thinking about starting this, but I can't find any info on what the diet requirements are like?  My "Phase I" was strictly weight loss and I've lost 51 pounds in the past 6 months.  Now I'm at a healthy weight and "Phase II" starts in January where I'm going to work on toning and building muscle.  I just don't know if I can stick to a very strict diet... CC has helped me lose all this weight because there is really no diet per se, I just make healthier choices that I can live with forever.  If I can live with the diet part of the program, I'm game.

I'm not sure what the diet is either. Won't have the program for a few weeks yet. Not real game on a strict diet either, looking more for the workout. I already do a different Core Secrets video everyday and am so bored with it. Trying to drop 20lbs and look lean.

I'm in!!

I'm already on the program now, but it will be alot easier to know someone else is struggling along with me. It's all about motivation and pushing eachother to their limits.

Can't wait to see what you think of the program!!

Hey mabatts,

Can you give us some insight on the nutrition side of the program?  I just want to continue my flexible diet that's easy to stick to and has been super-successful for me over the past 6 months.  I fully expect to put on some weight too, so if it's as simple as adding a protein shake post-workout or something like that, I'll be golden.  If there's a highly-specific regimine to follow, I might be in trouble.

doomie~

I'll definately send you the nutrition guide. It's kind of long and I don't want to take up so much space on this "blog". What's your email?
Forget my post above...

I finally figured out how to send a private message!

I've sent you both the Nutrition Guides.

I've done power 90 before, and I lost so many inches . I really need to start again and can't seem to find the motivation and time. Any advice. I've been on the cc website for exactly one month. I started at 176 and lost 11 pounds without exercise. I've NEVER lost that much weight before without exercising. (don't get me wrong, i don't sit around all day. i'm a teacher and i have a 7 year old...)

Any suggestions to help get motivated!??

Hi - My boyfriend and I are just starting the P90x.  We are on day 3... He's hardcore into it, but I am coming off shoulder rehab and surgery so and more focused on food intake!

Good to hear that people have been successful on this. We are going to try it. We took pictures the other night and I thought - Oh my god - one dislocated shoulder and I go from looking like a triathlete to looking like I spend too much time at the ice cream stand.

We are experimenting with the recipes. We are on the recipe plan but we substitute for convenience! We need convenience because of our jobs, so I frequently sub a lean cuisine and some soup or a salad and some fruit for the diet plan. I figure as long as I am burning more calories than taking in we should see some results :)

Anyone know where the information on the routines / frequency / plans are on the web?  A friend gave me all his videos when he moved away , but that's it.
Forgot to add - I'd be interested in Sharing results / thoughts / etc!

Nevermind my request - I found the p90x calendar and the workout logsheets on the web.  Here : http://maggiewang.com/2007/03/07/p90x-log-she ets-and-calendar-download/

As well as received the nutritional information from a great user here that posted above!!!   Thanks!

I started the workout on Jan 7th but I started the diet on 12/31/07. Pretty intense workouts but the diet is plentiful. I am using the portion plan rather than the recipe plan.

I took pictures on Day 1 and will take repeat pictures on Day 30, 60 and 89.

My wife and I leave for a 7 day Western Carribean Cruise on Day 90 so I do have some external motivation.

At 6'2" and 255lbs I find my gut gets in the way for some of the moves and I won't be able to do them correctly until that goes away a little.  As they say in the videos, if you can't keep up push the pause button. You are not expected to keep up with people that have gone through this program several times already. I found one of the statements in the diet guide to be very true.

You can follow the workouts without the diet and be fit, you just won't look it.

I have gone to the gym many times in the past and got fit but was still fat, and yes you can be fit and fat. Just like you can be unfit and thin.

I bought Bowflex SelecTech dumbells that are from 5-52.5lbs each. I have yet to find a place to put a pullup bar anywhere in my house that is heated. I have a Weider Crossbow system and I am using the lat pulldown until I figure out where the pullup bar will go. Heck, I'm not sure I could yank all of this extra beef into too many pullups anyways.

Those BowFlex Selectech dumbells look great.  I've heard you should be careful about dropping them though - Especially the plates by themselves . . .  brittle.

I really want a set . . . Might have to save up for them.

God Luck with the program and def. keep us posted!
