P90x question for the men.
Hello-
I am starting P90x this weekend. I am a big buy, not fat, but muscular. I wanted to do P90x to lean my body down and really rip out the mass. I do not want to get any bigger. I can bearly find shirts that fit my chest and arms as it is.
To the men who have a bit of size and do this program: Has this program made you bigger or just cut up???
I want to get leaner, not bigger. I don't want to scare childern or women in dark alleys.![]()
THANKS for you replies!
P90X will give you exactly what you are looking for. It really targets body fat. I didn't gain any noticable size, but every muscle in my body is harder, tighter and stronger.
If you use the Lean version, it should help. A significant portion of P90X is the nutrition, not just the exercises -- they go hand in hand, so while the usual "lower weight/higher reps" would probably help you maintain strength and power in the muscles you have already, the nutrition plans would cut down the body fat.
P90X tends to be more of a "shape up" program rather than a body-building/bulk-up program.
My Husband and I have both done PX90 for about 6 weeks, we have both lost weight and really tightened up. No big size and the videos give you many options for lean or size. You will love it!
P90x + calorie deficit = leaner
P90x + calorie surplus = bigger
replace P90x with pretty much any other exercise program and the same rules apply
GREAT!
Thanks for the replies!
I found this site a few weeks ago while looking into the program: http://www.begin2dig.com/2009/08/reflection-o f-p90x-review-part-1-of-3.html it has some interesting observations as well as alternatives and post program suggestions. The biggest things to take away is that diet is the primary driver here and that PX90 is mostly a cardio program and may not meet everyones needs.
Hope this helps.
