p90x RECOVERING DRINK, OR CHOCOLATE MILK?
Hey guys i`m 16 year old 5'9" tall and weight= 160
i just started p90x to lose some of my fat and get some tone and GET THOSE 6 PACKS!!!
but i had a question about recovery drinks
i`m 16 so i try to stay away from all supplements but whey protein and i came across the "p90x recovering drink" and i don`t want because of 2 reason, its expensive and its a supplement, ok so then i did some research and found out that chocolate milk is also a good recovery drink.
so my question should i take Chocolate milk after p90x work out( i preform p90x workout after school thats 2:30 pm) or should i just take whey protein drink OR just do my lunch and have a chocolate milk or whey protein 1 hour before going to sleep?
Chocolate milk is fine ... the recovery drinks are just another way for them to make money. I do P90X to (love it!) and sometimes I'll have a whey protien shake after (not theirs, I use PVL Whey Gourmet) , but it's not critical. Just try to eat something with some carbs, protien and sugars within 20 minutes of finishing.
Chocolate milk is fine, just go for low fat one. Something with 160-170 per serving. My favorite one is the Horizon brand.

I am 38 years old (and old fat compared to grove 75), and i now take the p90x supplements regularly. I did 2 round of P90X but I am doing the new Insanity Workout and got hooked on the P90X recovery drink which they market with the new workout.
Its not cheap but it works for me. Yes its 220 calories, 4 part carb 1 part protein...But its got creatine and a full spectrum on viatmins and minerals. So when i do the math, i save on a multivitamin pack (i used to do meaga mens from gnc - its another 30+ bucks). For 50 bucks (cost plus shipping) i get 25 servings of recovery drink and 25 days of daily vitamins. It tastes really yummy and it works for me. No aspartame or nasty stuff to leave an aftertaste.
PS - Keep chugging the chocalate milk with or without this or any other supplement. Better than soda, lots of calcium and vitamin D...Your bones and joints will thanks you when you're ald oldies goldies like me.
PS 2 - A good blog with p90x and other fitness articles: http://blog.extremefitnessresults.com
