I was thinking that since we all are on here daily to put in our calories, we could check in with each other to make sure we are all keeping up with our p90x, share our excitement/frustrations. A little role call to make sure everyone is hanging in there!
I'll go first...
Last night was yoga, but I don't like the p90x yoga too much, so I did a different, equally difficult yoga video instead. Tonight's legs and back, so hopefully I won't have to go up any stairs tomorrow. 4 days down, 86 to go!

i am on day 6! Last night did legs/back and ab ripper. Not a good idea to run 3 miles before that! ;) I thought I was gonna pass out with all the lounges/squats at one point.
Couldn't sleep this morning, so got up at 5:30am (not my usual time) and did Kenpo. It was fun and fairly easy for me since I have done a fair amount of Taebo and kick boxing over the last several years. Still planning on taking my usual Cardio Interval class (not p90x) at the gym tonight. I am trying to do more cardio than the plan includes to burn more fat.
Got on the scale this morning and was 2lbs lighter than on Day 1. Very cool! I have been following a "body-for-Life" type plan (5-6 mini meals per day) and it seems to be working well for me.
I switched my diet last week from 3 meals to eating 5-6 small meals a day. I lost 6 pounds last week. It made a huge difference for me.

im on week 10, day 2 March 17 2009. I done Chest, shoulders and tri 2 times today March 16 2009 and loved it :D
WOW. I have a hard time pushing myself off the floor at the end of the routine. I'm impressed.
Well I missed yesterday and today's workout... I have decided to call it a rest week and will re-do week 3 next week. I'm not giving up, just allowing life to happen and then get back on track.
randallswise- Hey! You are a great motivator! Thanks for your comments. It is Day 2 of wk 2 for me, i am doing the Lean version so today is Cardio. I love Cardio so I'm happy today! I plan to run for 30 min on the TM before doing the p90x w/o. I am not seeing the weight loss that i want to so I'm trying to push myself harder with cardio. I know my muscles are retaining water right now so i'm trying to keep telling myself to be patient.
shandrake- It's ok to take a "life break" but get back at it as soon as possible!
I am back at it on Week 3 Day 1. Even with a life interruption, I managed to stay below my starting weight, I only rebounded to 220, down from 230... Back to the morning workouts again.![]()
Week 8, Day 50.
I had a banner day on Saturday. Boxed up a lot of old pants. Bought new ones. Size 34 waist down from size 40 one year ago!
THAT'S 6" FROM MY WAIST! YEAH BAAAAYYYYBEEEEEEE!
I've gone from a tight size 36 to 34" just since starting P90X.
This is getting good.
Moral: don't rely on scale alone, people...

Dilemma:
I have really been impressed with the low numbers I have managed to see on the scale. However, my goal since starting P90X is not to get ripped but instead to decrease my BF%. I am being realistic in my goal setting so I am starting off with a goal of 20%. I would really appreciate any suggestions/input/advice on measuring my body fat percentage. Is anyone else currently measuring their BF%. What tools are you using?

162lbls and now im at 146lbls :D
It looks like you are having really great results with p90x. Kudos.
I am on day 16 (started Jun 1st) so tonight would be Plyo (which is actually my favorite, next to Kenpo), BUT due to a recent knee injury involving me crashing my bike into a rocky mess of pain and flying over the handlebars, I will be replacing Plyo with a long, hard session on the stationary bike which is much lower impact (Kenpo was hard on my knee, so plyo would most likely be certain doom). Has anyone else had to make substitutions like this?
I like the accountability of p90x, because even though I am not doing the Plyo workout with the program, I am going to make myself do some kind of cardio to stay on schedule, even if it's not exaclty the same. Hopefully I will be able to do Plyo next week!
Hey fellow P90xers....
Just thought I would add in. Back on the program after 3 months off. I'm really dedicated this time because I know the program works. I started April 2008 with a starting weight of 260lbs. I never really followed the program 100%, but was able to lose 33lbs, without changing my diet. Well I fell off the wagon back in April and gain 14lbs back. Funny what no workout and eating cookies like they are going out of style will do to you..LOL.
Well, I'm back and fully committed to the program, diet and all (which is why I joined CC). I'm on day 8 and I'm sooo focused it's not even funny. Keep on me guys. Check in with me often, as I will you and let's all ride this success train together!
Fav Routines: Plyo, Core Syn, Chest and Back.
Hated Routines: Yoga, yoga and yoga (but I do it because I does work with strength and flexibility...But I still hate it)
I'm at day -29 haha. Let me explain. I told myself I would give myself 30 days prep (I haven't worked out consistently in months). So I'm going to do a lot of walking, mild dieting, and I found the ab ripper and yoga routine online so I'm going to try those every now and then. I'm jobless at the moment, so hopefully I'll find employment and can purchase the whole program by Sept 1. So I'm doing p120x. haha.
I just did the ab routine however, and jeez, am I the only fat ass that can only finish 1/2 of the exercises? I do 10-20 reps, instead of 25.
My goal between 1700 calorie diet and 120 days of P90X is to lose about 30-35 lbs by Christmas.
Wish me luck!
Three days before finishing P90X Round 1 I herniated a disc in my back and had to have surgery. Needless to say, I'm still maintaining the weight and plan on round 2 beginning in September. I'll have to modify the program to ease stress to my lower back, but it is essential I strenghthen my core.
I'm down to a 32" waist paint and have been holding steady at about 183 lbs. One year ago I was almost 250 lbs with a 40" waist.
I'm ready to get going again. It's amazing how quickly I lost strength and tone after bedrest from surgery.
Best

This is always a tricky one unless you have someone with calipers that can help you.
The best advice I got from my doctor is if you want to use a body fat scale, not to take the number you see there to heart. It may not be accurate, but it should be consistent. (If you use it at around the same time each day, and not with damp skin) So you can use it to measure your losses/gains in BF. So even if the number on the scale is wrong as your base, it should remain consistent so that if you start at 30 and go to 25, you can feel confident that you've lost 5%, whatever the actual numbers are. I hope you get what I mean here.
Of course, getting someone trained to do it is the best, but just not very available, or cost effective for most of us.
Hiya. Yup, just started Lean myself. I'm on Day 3 today. Boy, did Ab Ripper make me feel weak and uncoordinated this morning. (I have to split up the AB Ripper and the Shoulders workout due to time constraints.)
Did you do both together? If so, how was that? I thought I'd be too wiped to do both together anyway.
I am on week 4 of the P90x Lean. I have dropped 5 lbs in a week and it's getting easier, but definately not easy yet. I have 35 more lbs to let go of to reach my goal so I'm keeping at it everyday!
Only exercise I did today is p90x Ab Ripper. It is hard to do any workouts when your whole right side of mouth is throbbing in pain.
I have tooth infection set in on right my right side and I am on heavy antibiotics. I hope the medicine kicks in and relieve me from pain by morning.
Good luck in your workouts friends,
Kal
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
