P90X Users please help me with this question.

Hello-

I am considering buying the P90X video series to change up my workouts & to see if all the hype can work for me.

What I am concerned with is 3 things:

1- Can this stuff be done in a Gym without having to watch everything that goes on?  Meaning... can I watch it in a run thru then put the video my ipod to have the video on it only looking at it from time to time if I forget a move?

2- How much space do you use to do the wokout?   (i.e. 10' x 8')  Because living in NYC space is at a premium and I am in a apartment.

3- Is there a ton of jumping around?  Because I live above people & don't want to disturb them everyday.  Can that part be done at the gym (see #1)??

This is my first post of many to come.  THANKS for your help!!!

1) Yes.  I've done that when going out of town -- I ripped one of the DVDs to my iPod then hit the weight room at the hotel.

2) Most of the exercises don't need that much space.  Maybe 2-4 large steps forward and back would be the maximum length you might need.

3) Plyometrics-X is just about all jumping.  That one can be done anywhere, as no weights are required.  Core Synergystics incorporates some jumping and tumbling, as does Cardio-X.  The program you select (Classic or Lean) will determine which ones you do and how often.

Regardless of what you see on infomercials, P90X is still an exercise & nutrition program.  It's not a magic bullet, so you're ultimately responsible for your own success.  P90X is just a guide to help you get there.

Good luck!

I think I will buy the set next month.  Money mouth

If your not actually going with video, you can just download the text version.

That way you have all the workout plans, then simply read and perform. A lot cheaper, if not free...

My only advice involving P90X is this:

My boyfriend & I had tried it. The thing is... P90X is super intense & (I feel), made for people already in pretty good shape (athletes or people with already intense workouts). There is another system... just Power 90 I believe... it is simply a step below the P90X program. I'd suggest trying that first if you're not sure. P90X is a lot of money to spend (or waste) if you're not at that point in your fitness where you can take the work-outs. The intensity was WAY too much for me at first, & not super encouraging.

Either way, good luck :)

I am getting my videos for P90X next week, and will probably start the training the week after. I know it will be very intense and challenging, but I am looking forward to it!!
