Polish potato dumplings stuffed with meat. Rich in calories, but I love them, they remind me of family home. And you don't need to each many, just five will fill you up.

Recipe Ingredients for Pyzy ziemniaczane z miesem - swieze

1000 g potatoes
200 g potato starch
2 eggs
1 tsp sea salt
250 g beef, minced
250 g pork, minced
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 egg
1 onion

Recipe Directions for Pyzy ziemniaczane z miesem - swieze

  1. Cook meat until tender, you can add some vegetables if you like (carrot, leek, celery), add fried onion, raw egg, salt and black pepper, blend together.

  2. Cook potatoes in salted water until tender, mash them while still warm. Let them cool down, layer in a bowl and cut out fourth part and put on the other potatoes. Fill the hole with potato starch. There should be 3 parts of potatoes per 1 part of potato starch. Add eggs, a little salt and mix properly.

  3. Grab a handful of dough, form a circle, put the portion of stuffing in the middle and form a ball. Repeat the action until all dough or stuffing is gone. If you have some dough left, keep forming the balls without stuffing.

  4. Cook dumplings in salted water for 5 minutes from the time when they start floating on the surface.

  5. Serve with gravy or creamy mushroom sauce.
