quaker oatmeal - keeps you full

Quote  |  Reply
Hey, I thought I would let you guys know about Quaker Oatmeal.

I had it around noon and it kept me full for a long time. I grabbed one of those instant quaker oatmeal packages with 33% less sugar, and put five almonds in it. It kept me not hungry for a few hours! So, I highly recommend it! And, it is quick and easy. You just put boiling water, or pop it in the microwave. It doesn't taste that bland..... the brown sugar and the almond gives it taste. :P

quaker oatmeal is only good when done on a stove top, with proper rolled oats, not that libary paste instant junk. I love oatmeal, its one of the perfect foods, it really does keep ya going,

however, quaker oatmeal isnt a geniune or great taste, for that, nothing compares to Mccann's Irish Steel cut Oats.

I use store brand rolled oats. (Publix)

I know, I'm cheap.
I have to try steel cut oats some day  - but I am currently eating a bowl of rolled oats as I type this.  I add milled flax seed to it and make it with skim milk instead of water.  I don't do the instant stuff either - I make mine in the microwave - just make sure you use a big enough bowl and watch it to prevent an overflow.
Mm, nothing wrong with store bough no brand. Its all teh same ingredient!! I had some this morning. I cant get enough of it. I used to have to eat a stack, but now even a little bowl is quite filling.

I like adding fruit. Then no need for sugar. :D

The almonds might have kept you full too tho. But yes, oatmeal is filling - low GI
