The Quest to Conquer Weekends Challenge!

Quote  |  Reply

Weekends are still a HUGE challenge for me, and I know I'm not alone.  If you are like me and your weekends are enough to de-rail all or most of your hard work during the week, then join with me and we will conquer weekends for once and forever!

In this challenge, I want us to practice doing all the things we love about weekends without all the extra calories!

Post each week with your score, how you did last weekend and what challenges you anticipate next weekend.  Weekends INCLUDE FRIDAY.  I will accept points until Thursday and post them on a score post.

--------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------

Motto #1: I can have fun without alcohol!  (10 points per weekend)

Give yourself 10 points for doing something where you would normally drink (a party, a ballgame, ect.) and drinking 2 drinks or less (fishbowl margaritas or 32 ounce beers DO NOT COUNT as one drink!).

If you are a non-drinker or you didn't drink more than 2 drinks this weekend, give yourself 10 points automatically.

Motto #2: I choose people over food!  (10 points per weekend)

Give yourself 10 points for doing something social - with your SO, your kids, your friends - that doesn't involve food.

Motto #3: I can eat out without going overboard! (10 points per weekend)

Give yourself 10 points for eating out "with moderation".  You will know you are being moderate if you have a rough idea of how many calories you are eating - and it is within 200 calories of what you normally eat for meals.  You can also consider holiday or "family feast" dinners under this category.

If you didn't eat out this weekend, give yourself 10 points automatically.

Motto #4: I can treat myself without food! (10 points per weekend)

Give yourself 10 points for doing something special "just for you" this weekend that doesn't involve food.

Count me in. Weekends are absolutely HORRIBLE for me. Last weekend was brutal, and I still feel bad about it. Hopefully this will help me to be more accountable for this weekend and for future weekends. :)

Members so far for this weekend:

Let's do this!

Alcohol: For this weekend, there are no parties or social events to worry about, but we did just buy the yummiest hard cider in the world so that will be a challenge.

Treat: My treat this weekend is going to be 1 hour playing "The Sims" guilt free.

Social: I want to go hiking or play frisbee golf with Josh, but it is supposed to rain so I still have to think of something.

I'm in!  I have to think about what I will do this weekend to replace the behaviors I don't want.

Ohh Count me in!  This is exciting - I always mess up on the weekends.   I have 10 points each week automatically since I don't drink alcohol :-) - But I will deduct them if I do get a virgin Margarita.

For this coming weekend:

Motto 1 - 10 points (No Alcohol)

&nb sp;   2 - 10 points (Helping my fiancee move to a new apartment)

For 3 and 4 I will have to wait till Monday to see if I have achieved those two goals.

Thanks for directing me to the new thread :]

For this weekend...
Motto #1- not really an issue, I'm younger than 21
Motto #2- This weekend I plan on going to the Art Museum and the bookstore with my friends... & maybe a movie?
Motto #3- We'll see.... :o
Motto #4- I quite like the sims idea, haha. I will play sims some time during the weekend.

Good luck everyone :D

Motto #1: I can have fun without alcohol!  (10 points per weekend)

This won't be hard for me as long as I remember it!  I like to sip bourbon every once in a while.  I'll have to tape a big "NO" note on the bottle.

Motto #2: I choose people over food!  (10 points per weekend)

Hmmmm....I gotta do something with the kids.  Ok...I will either play a board game or let them laugh at me as I try to play a game on the Gameboy.

Motto #3: I can eat out without going overboard! (10 points per weekend)

I'm not tempted to go overboard at one sitting very often.  Lately, I've fallen into the trap of wanting to eat out too often because it's easier.  So...no more than 2 times eating out this weekend, including fast food, from Friday evening to Monday morning.

Motto #4: I can treat myself without food! (10 points per weekend)

I want a nap on Sunday afternoon!

And so it begins...

Motto #1: I can have fun without alcohol!

     - This is going to be a tough one for me. I'm a big drinker, and since I'm eighteen, my nights don't usually consist of a couple of drink at a social dinner with friends. We normally just head over to Quebec (I live in Ontario) and go clubbing since the drinking age is eighteen there, not nineteen like it is here. We always drink way too much and honestly, I don't know how we get home half the time lol. But everyone is going out drinking tonight but I said no. (Yay me! lol)

Motto #2: I choose people over food!

     - I will probably be able to do this over the weekend. I socialize with my friends and without food quite often so this shouldn't be a problem.

Motto #3: I can eat out without going overboard!

     - My parents actually JUST asked me to go out to dinner with them but I said no. Thank god I don't like Chinese food haha. Normally I wouldn't be able to resist lol.

Motto #4: I can treat myself without food!

     - I'm going to have a bubble bath! (So relaxing, and I haven't had one in forever.)

Hopefully everyone's weekend goes well!

It is definitely a solution to not participate in situations that are challenging.

The real challenge, and I believe you can do it!, is to practice going out and clubbing with your friends, but being DD and having fun without a lot of alcohol.  That is my goal for myself anyway!  I don't want to sit at home just because I am dieting!

I know, but it's so hard! Lol, I tried not to drink last weekend. But I got really nervous because it was my friend's birthday and some people who I used to be friends with were there but now we all basically hate each other. So it was really awkward, and I just started chugging back those rum and cokes! Hahaha... Oh, I'm going to give it a shot next weekend though if my friends want to go clubbing. At least at a club you can dance and have fun without drinking. I refuse to go out with them if they are just going to college parties though, because that's basically sitting around a table and drinking until you can barely stand up haha.

cellar-door - I totally drink when I am nervous too!  It sucks.

Hi all!  I did so great this weekend, I am so proud of myself.  Actually, I ate close to maintenance every day, but I logged everything and that is great for me.

Motto #1: I went to TWO bars friday night, with tons of people I didn't really know and I drank just one beer.  I had a great time, I don't think anybody even noticed that I wasn't drunk like them.

Motto #2: I played frisbee golf with my husband.

Motto #3: We went to IHOP and I really wanted a cheeseburger.  Turned out it wasn't very good.  I ordered a side salad, ate that, half my burger and half my onion rings.  I felt I did pretty good.

Motto #4: I played sims, it was fun.

I did really good this weekend as well. I stayed within my calorie range, and did some HIIT on Saturday.

Motto #1: I can have fun without alcohol!

I didn't drink all weekend... Thats the first time in months! (10 points)

Motto #2: I choose people over food!

I hung out with my friend all day Saturday. (10 points)

Motto #3: I can eat out without going overboard!

I didn't eat out at all this weekend. (10 points)

Motto #4: I can treat myself without food!

I didn't end up taking a bath. But I did play some playstation, and I haven't played in a really long time so it was nice. (10 points)

Total: 40 points. :)

Hung out with my family and fiancee most of the weekend.  Did not eat anything other then regular meals.  (No chips, chocolate, ice cream, or drinks).  We did not move this weekend because we didn't get the key to the new place.  Hopefully we can get the keys this week so we can move this weekend.

Motto #3: I can eat out without going overboard! (10 points per weekend)

Yes, I did that.  Saturday night I wanted more but stopped my dinner when it was time.  Sunday In & Out shared fries and did not get soda.

Motto #4: I can treat myself without food! (10 points per weekend)

I gave my self: Facial, manicure, & pedicure.  I also worked out for an hour Sat. & Sun.

Are you guys ready for the weekend?

I have a treat in mind - there is a sewing fair in town saturday.  Also, if we decide to go bowling saturday night, it can count as a situation where I normally drink.  I still need to plan something social that doesn't involve food - it seems like EVERYTHING involves food.  First, I thought of bowling, then remembered all the yummy apetizers, food and alcohol.  I am going to church sunday, but even there they sell donuts and lattes and everybody gets them.  I'll plan to get a sugar free latte and it will be awesome - however it doesn't count as not involving food.  We are going to Costco saturday, but that involves buying food, free samples, and trying to resist the food stand on the way out.

Looks like there will be lots of challenges (as usual) this weekend!

Good luck everybody!

Wow it is the weekend already??

Motto #1: I can have fun without alcohol!  (10 points per weekend)

Motto #2: I choose people over food!  (10 points per weekend)

We have the key to the new place for my fiancee so will be for sure helping him this weekend

Motto #3: I can eat out & at home without going overboard! (10 points per weekend)

This will be challenge - have been going overboard most days this week.  To make things worst my family has brought home bags of chips and chocolate.  Will have to avoid them because if I know they are in the kitchen I will want them.   (Modifying the criteria a tad bit)

Motto #4: I can treat myself without food! (10 points per weekend)

I have no plans for my self this week :-(
