On a quest for the illusive gap between the thighs - (closed)
I am currently 190.5lb 5ft8/9 tall with thighs measuring 25 inches each(well at least they are symetrical, the only good thing I can say about them)
I am creating this topic in order for us to share tips on how you have/intend to get that illusive gap. And for people to share how successful their methods have been/ are being so far.
My strategy
1) lose weight, I am losing weight at a rate of 2lbs a week and have been for a while now and hope to stick with it.
2) excercise bike, I plan to up the amount of time that I spend on my exercise bike and if the weather is good(I am from the UK so I don't hold much hope) then go cycling outside aswell.
I will try this for a while and will post my thigh measurements(and weight) each week.
And out of curiosity, if there is any of you lucky people out there with "the gap" how small did your thighs have to be to get it?
Come join me in my QUEST !!!

This group is closed to new members for the moment. Everybody is welcome to post tips, advice, experience etc....
Just so you know, the more muscular your legs are, chances are you won't see a gap!
Also it depends on your body type (wide hips, etc) I'm small boned, only 120lbs and I still don't have a gap! My jeans always wear out between my darn thighs!
You have a great plan though, but don't rely on the gap! Just stick to improvements :o) Luck!
Sorry.. but this doesn't seem to fit in the parameters of a healthy weight loss plan. Striving for something as superficial and meaningless as a gap between your thighs is pretty scary. Usually I don't respond to these things, but really... I hope healthier goals are ahead for all of you, and wish you the best on your health and happiness.
Count me in. Representin' Moscow!
I'd also describe my legs as being...'thunderous', and they've recently become very muscular due to exercise (so there's a chance that I'll never see that wonderous gap). As to respond to the above - I don't think it is 'unhealthy', just may be a tad unrealstic for some (like me). There are millions of reasons why people decide to start exercising or to lose weight, and I don't see why wanting to feel comfortable in trousers (or a skirt for that matter) should be any more superficial than people who want to look good in a dress or want to have a more 'toned' body.
I trust that the people taking part in this quest are all mature, health-inclined people. :D
Best of luck to everyone!

I'm losing weight the same way I have been. I'm just joining this group and gonna up my leg workouts. People are allowed to have fun.
Collier: Yeah! I know, right? My mom has my same problem... so I guess I know where my chunky legs come from!!!
Anyone know what's considered a good hip-thigh ratio?
I also think its fine, as long as its done in a healthy way. I myself don't really need to lose much weight, I am 5'5" and 139ish... however i STILL dont have a gap between my legs. I am trying to work out and lose a bit of the flab that is still on my legs, but my upper body is easily 1-2 sizes smaller than my lower body. I believe my waist is around a 28, yet my thighs are like 21ish or something, so basically my thighs are almost the size of my waist. lol !
I am in for this though, I probably won't report on weight loss progress as I probably won't lose very much, but I am hoping to gain a bit of muscle and lose some flab and maybe that will make my lower body a bit smaller. I will report on my inch progress. :)
Hey yall Count me in!
My thighs are humogous(if I spelt that right)lol. but anyways, Yes Im in, I need to get rid of these THUNDERS myself. So what days are we gonna post our thigh stats? Lol. Here are my regular stats: I havent done measurements in a while.

Diva, I think we're posting stats on Thursdays.
I'm in, if you're still letting people join.
What do you people consider a 'gap'? I have a definite gap between my thighs, but it doesn't go all the way up to my inner thigh. In fact when I was 115lbs at 5'7", my thighs still hung out together up there because my hips are small for my size/height. I think I'd have to be a rotting corpse for there to be no gap. Just curious

that works as a gap to me. At the moment my thighs touch from inner thigh to my knees

First thing is this is not a weight loss group as such, the only reason I am posting my weight is because I need to lose weight, 190lbs for me is not healthy nor particularly attractive.
(I will not be encouraging people that are already at the low end of their healthy weight to be losing weight but I will support them in their attempt to create a more toned body inc. more toned thighs)
Secondly for me this is not purely superficial, its not a great feeling in the summer to feel your legs rubbing together.
Thirdly I feel I should clarify that although I realise that this may be unattainable for many, from what I can see (I have a large frame with fairly wide hips) at the moment I feel this goal is achievable, if it is not then I will re-evaluate at a later date.
To everyone else GOOD LUCK and lets get working those thighs of ours.
@girlfighting27: Oh. Well in that case I have one too. But I'd like it to be bigger? I'm still gonna try.

I think I would be happy with that. I am the same as girlfighting27 there is not a gap to be seen. I am not one to push my body to unneccesary extremes.
Count me in! That's one of my ultimate goals - to get that leg gap. I never shared it because I was always kind of embarassed to admit it!
Count me in too! Each thigh is as big as my waist (24") and my hip is 41". I try to do alot of walking and biking, so hopefully that will help to firm up my legs and glutes.

Wow!
Who remembers the days of corduroy pants? We were all walking around, sounding like crickets. There was no sneaking up on anybody then. Thank GOD those aren't in style anymore! :-)
I remember once, when I was a teenager, noticing my aunts' HUGE thighs, and coming to the sudden and terrifying realization that I probably shared at least some genetic material with these women. I'm still in therapy...
Personally, I'm built like a T-Rex--I have a ginormous head, short little arms and huge thighs. I, too, am seeking the gap, but unfortunately cannot commit to joining you folks. But good luck!

OK that's like the funniest thing I've read all day. I'll trade your T-Rex for a pumpkin on toothpick

Both of you are officially amazing. Thank you for the hilarious mental images.
On a side-note, do any of you read the "Dinosaurs" webcomic? Wonderful!
It reminds me of when we used to trade Pokemon cards...
"I'll trade my Pumpkin for your T-Rex."
"No way! Do you know how hard I worked to evolve into an exact anatomical replica of the dino king? Amateur!!"
