On a quest for the illusive gap between the thighs - (closed)

Quote  |  Reply

I am currently 190.5lb 5ft8/9 tall  with thighs measuring 25 inches each(well at least they are symetrical, the only good thing I can say about them)

I am creating this topic in order for us to share tips on how you have/intend to get that illusive gap. And for people to share how successful their methods have been/ are being so far.

My strategy

1) lose weight, I am losing weight at a rate of 2lbs a week and have been for a while now and hope to stick with it.

2) excercise bike, I plan to up the amount of time that I spend on my exercise bike and if the weather is good(I am from the UK so I don't hold much hope) then go cycling outside aswell.

I will try this for a while and will post my thigh measurements(and weight) each week.

And out of curiosity, if there is any of you lucky people out there with "the gap" how small did your thighs have to be to get it?

Come join me in my QUEST !!!

This group is closed to new members for the moment. Everybody is welcome to post tips, advice, experience etc....

I don't think i'll ever have that gap, but I'm still willing to post measurements, probably every month though, as I don't want to measure myself quite as much as I weigh myself..... (which is a bit obsessively, truth be told :-))

Hey you guys haha.  I don't want to join this group or anything (I'm trying to gain weight), but I thought I'd let you know that some people never get that gap.

One of my skinniest friends, with just about the perfect body, has no gap between her thighs.  She gets all self-conscious about how they rub together and stuff, but honestly she is so slim that it must be where her thigh bones are situated or something.

Just letting you guys know. :)  Good luck everyone!

thanks okgo we know. Its more a getting our legs really toned kinda thing. But thanks for the input!

I'm trying to think of a hilarious shape to describe myself, but i'm not a witty as T-rex, and toothpick pumpkin! You guys are awesome! thanks for the laugh in the morning!

I'm in! I had that gap for about a month then christmas came and wrecked it all. Who knew champagne had so many calories!

So what are everyone's plans for toning their lovely legs? Certain exercises or techniques? Suggestions?

I've heard pilates are supposed to be great for sculpting long, lean muscles, but I've never had enough motivation to stick to it. Anyone had success?

No no no wrong wrong wrong. Pilates is great for...whatever it's great for but it's a proven poor leg work out. Melkor or floggingsully have the back up studies. Ironically I'm too lazy to post them.

Want thin, hot legs? SQUATS, DEADLIFTS, LUNGES. The holy trinity of great legs right there. Body weight if you're a beginner, otherwise with heavy weights. No your legs won't get bulky because you are a female. You CAN NOT get bulky. You think you can, but you can't.

Words like "sculpt" and "long, lean muscles" are evil junk that bird cage liners like Shape have beat into your head. Is there fat muscle? No. Can you make your legs longer? No. You build muscle or you don't build muscle.

Fine with me, I'd rather do lungesany day! Thanks for the info, Spirochete. It's hard separating fact from fiction in the modern world.

lunges eh? maybe I should get back to my wii, it has some killer leg workouts. Looking forward to feeling that burn

You're right, it was about her teensy-tiny waist. I'm quite envious!

Ice Queen, I didn't realize that could be taken the wrong way -- I hope you knew what I meant!

Finally got a hold of a measuring tape (a hard thing to do in an office!)

Thighs - 20 in

Waist - 24 in

I agree with you, but i will say i have done pilates in the past and lost inches. But at the same time I feel anything you do consistently will give you some sort of success

SmileLol. It's ok. I figured. I get that all the time... sometimes it's a blessing and sometimes a curse. I can never find a dress that fits my top AND my bottom, and I always end up having to adjust the waist of my pants/shorts. Hopefully I can trim and tone the legs and hips to match my waist...

Thanks for understanding.

In other news, I just bought a scale! Hooray! It's being shipped tomorrow. I hope it arrives before next Thursday.

Hips - 40 in

Thighs - 25 in

Waist - I will measure this in the morning as my stomach is bloated from dinner

Start weight (this time) 11 august 2008 - 210.5lbs

Current Weight - 188.5lbs

Goal Weight - 154lbs???

Height - 5'9
