On a quest for the illusive gap between the thighs - (closed)
I am currently 190.5lb 5ft8/9 tall with thighs measuring 25 inches each(well at least they are symetrical, the only good thing I can say about them)
I am creating this topic in order for us to share tips on how you have/intend to get that illusive gap. And for people to share how successful their methods have been/ are being so far.
My strategy
1) lose weight, I am losing weight at a rate of 2lbs a week and have been for a while now and hope to stick with it.
2) excercise bike, I plan to up the amount of time that I spend on my exercise bike and if the weather is good(I am from the UK so I don't hold much hope) then go cycling outside aswell.
I will try this for a while and will post my thigh measurements(and weight) each week.
And out of curiosity, if there is any of you lucky people out there with "the gap" how small did your thighs have to be to get it?
Come join me in my QUEST !!!

I do think frame shape and size and genetics could play a role.
I am sitting at work freezing my butt off! Something's wrong with the two air ducts over my cubicle and they keep going on and blowing COLD FRIDGID ICY air. Even when the facilities people come to turn them off they go back on! dammit! this really makes me wanna leave work now!
I just found out today that sushi is a low-calorie food. That is fantastic! This whole time I'd been avoiding it because I'd considered it a very calorie-rich food (don't sumo wrestlers mainly eat rice?). I had a huge helping today. Still feel completely stuffed and am just under my daily intake!
Yeah! Sushi is awesome! I'm actually having some right now, haha. Yummy!
OH IMITATION CRAB HOW I LOVE YOU
*looks up*
...What?
I...I wasn't going to say anything.
*shifty eyes*
i've always wanted that "gap" between my thighs but i honestly think its just the way my body is made up. Even when i was at my smallest size (a size 4- i am now an 8 though) i still had a gap and hated my thighs. I run every day too. My mother has 'chicken legs" but weighs more than me. So i don't know, i do think the way you are built plays into it!
mmmm.... you guys are making me want sushi so bad. But i am much too poor for it right now. I could live on spicy tuna.
I'm soooo sad, I got up all early this morning and make myself a yummy lunch, and FORGOT it. Dammit! Now I"ll have to eat whatever i have at work. BOO!!! Not that the stuff I have a work is bad it's just not carb friendly. How is everyone doing?? Hope you're all see a downward motion on the scales. Two more days till i can measure. Hopefully i lose some inches
B: Kashi golean crunch with skim milk and tea
S: applesauce
L: some lean cuisine i have in the freezer from forever ago. I think it's the santa fe rice and beans. yummmm...
S: Fiber One pop tart
D: Idunno, maybe the lunch i left at home?? haha
Lean Cuisine sounds great right now. It's 9:20 and I'm back from class already. I've had so far an Oats 'n Honey bar from Nature Valley and some Dunkin' Donuts coffee I made in my dorm with 1 Tbsp 1 tsp of caramel syrup. Not too shabby. My friend Rebecca and I are going to go to Walmart at 10:30 and pick up some stuff we need, as well as some ingredients for spaghetti! I don't know WHAT it is, but when I am at college I crave spaghetti over anything else. Like when I think about what I want to eat it's always spaghetti. The school's isn't very good, I hear, but the sauce is all thin and from a can so I never even bothered to try it. Anyway, I'll be making that later today, so I'm going to save up my calories for a lovely dinner. I'm going to make some for my poor roommate, who is over-stressed and almost certainly in starvation mode (she rarely eats over 14 Weight Watchers points a day) because she's so stressed out and hates the food here. I feel sorry for her, I like her a lot but she's become... less pleasant lately.
Totally unrelated, but I get to go to Barnes & Noble today and spend $100!!!!! I'm sooooo excited. I am going to buy the book Twilight which my cousin loves, so I'm gonna give it a shot, and Essential Kanji, so I can teach myself Japanese characters so that I can read better. But after those two, it's free reign, release me on the bookstore!!! I have to remember to bring the Spanish Harry Potter book up here... I actually strangely enjoyed reading that last year.
It's snowing today. I looked out the window as I was leaving and realized it was all snowy... I despise snow but when I haven't seen it in a long time it's beautiful and exciting. I won't be feeling this same way in a month or two, so I should enjoy it now. Winters around here last about 6 months.

Enjoy your spending spree! i haven't read anything in a while, shoule probably wander around B&N myself. You're so nice to make extra for you roommate. I best friend and awful roommates while she was at school
Three cheers for book spending-sprees! I recently bought a collection of P.G. Wodehouse (of Jeeves and Wooster fame) books and am loving them to death.
I've had a good week in terms of exercise, but unfortunately the weight hasn't budged. I'll check my measurements tomorrow. I might find some hope in them.
Week 2 stats!
*gets out tape measure* Here goes!
Hips - 95 cm (37.4 in) - same
Thighs - 62 cm (24.4 in) - 61 cm (24.0 in) - down 1 cm!
Waist - 74.5 (29.3 in) - 73 (28.8 in) - down another 1.5 cms!
Weight - 65.2 (143.7 lbs) - 65.0 (143.3 lbs) - down just 0.2 kgs.
Height - 160 cms (5'3)
BMI - 25.5 - 25.4 - down 0.1 point.
Well, this is the first time I've felt the effect of 'don't weight yourself, measure yourself' and appreciated its mantra. I tried so hard this week, and hardly lost any weight, but according to my measurements, my proportions are beginning to change. I really don't get the waist thing, though. I've lost 3 cms (1.2 inches) off it in 2 weeks. Is that ok? I wouldn't say I've been doing any more ab exercises then I have leg or arm exercies...
Oh well, I'll press on and see what happens.
WAITING FOR YOUR UPDATES...
good morning everyone! Weighed myself this morning in hopes on seeing a little bit of a drop but alas, still 153. But i haven't stayed this low in awhile so I'll take it! I'm going out with my coworkers after work for one of their birthdays. I can't decide if it would be better to cut out my snacks and save the cals for drinking, or just keep eating as usual. idunno. I'll have to decide as the day goes on.
