I am 18 years old... I got my period once when I was 16 I believe? I don't even remember. I got it once and then never had it again. A while later, I lost some weight and have recently been working on gaining weight.
Since I was not having it even before I lost weight, I have no idea if I am not getting it because I am too thin or what... I like where I am right now, though. I think I look good & am happy with how I am. My mom gave me permission to stop gaining, too.
However, I still don't have my period. I don't want to just keep gaining forever just to get it back... but my mom tells me not to worry, I'll get it someday. If I am not getting it now, will that affect my ability to have kids? Will it hurt me in any way? I am just worried. ![]()
Thanks for any help.<3
Everyone is different so take that into account. Some women have it very young and others have it later on, but both are normal. So there is a high likelihood that there is nothing to be concerned about.
However, it would not hurt to make an appointment with your GYN. He/she will be better equipped to give you adequate advice regarding your particular situation.
Okay, I will hope for the best! Thank you.
