Say I eat 1300 calories and exercise off 300. Is that okay? Would that put me in starvation mode?

In order for anyone to tell you that, you would need to provide us with your height and weight....But I can tell you that you would be in a safe range if your total deficiency was 500 less than your BMR... Check our this calculator-it provides a solid explaination of the concept of a basal metabolic rate..

Actually I think I read the other day that this would put you in starvation mode because your cals in - your exercise is less than 1200 cals. Eating only 1300 cals in the first place seems pretty low.
