question for bowflex users

My husband and I are considering getting a bowflex.  There are so many models out there, I'm just curious about what you may use and how you like it.

Hubby and I are like you and were considering a Bowflex.  The cost is just crazy though.  I did a little research and we ended up getting a gym called a BioForce sold by Fitness Quest.  It works on a similar principle to the Bowflex but from all the reviews I read actually has a better movement (no jerking and banging) and is quieter.

We have had it in our house for two weeks and I am really enjoying it.  We got rid of a Total Gym because it just didn't do what I needed it to.  The BioForce is a lot like using the difference machines at the gym.  I'm already seeing improvement in my triceps, which we all know is a problem area for us ladies.

I'd be happy to talk to you about it... feel free to send me a message.

I own a Bowflex, its about 2 years old already and its the "Sport" model. Like you, I was about to purchase a $2000 piece of machinery before I decided to looking in the Flyer and on eBay. People are getting rid of them like hot cakes, I bought mine for $250 dollars, although I had to drive about 6 hours upstate to get it. Well worth the trip in my opinion. Im thinking about getting a Revolution. But, I might start going to my University or Private gym soon so Im not sure.

We've had ours for 5 - 6 years and paid over $1800 for it new.  There is a little bit of a learning curve working with the crazy thing and it is more time consuming switching things up for different exercises than they lead you to believe.  Also, unless you have an area reserved for it where you can leave it set up without having to move it please reconsider your choice.  It is quite the undertaking to disassemble enough to fold up and move, especially with the lat pull-down and leg extension add-ons.

It will give you a good workout but "feels" different than working with free weights or other gym type machines due to the power rods being so flexible.  We don't regret buying ours but at times I know if it were simpler to set up I would use it more consistently.

Thank you all - you've given me some things to consider and talk over with hubby.  I'll have to look into the BioForce too!
