Question about Burn Calculator

Quote  |  Reply

I am relatively new to CC. I am trying to calculate how much I am burning in calories a day. I selected "Light Activity" because I excercise about 20 minutes every morning which put me at a burn calculator of 2080 or so. I put in my activity this morning and now my burn calculator is 2120. Isn't it double counting my activity since I qualify as "Light Activity" because of my exercise regime? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know I'm new too and wondering the exact same thing.

 Yes you are double counting.

For myself I put my activity level at sedentary. I add my activites during the day to my activity log. Like my sedentary burn is 2060 and I did a 9 mile run yesterday for 1160 calories. I added that and the burn meter adjusted itself accordingly (3120).

When you add avtivites don't expect to see the entire calorie amount be credited to your burn meter cause it takes into account the calories that you would've burned anyway.

I like to keep mine at sedentary, since at light activity or higher it's already counting all that activity. It's really confusing, but I like to have control and put in everything extra that I do.
