Question About Calories Burned/Intake
I think I have confused myself by crunching too many numbers...someone please help me figure this out. I want to lose 1.5 lbs a week for a total loss of 15 lbs over 3 months. I'm trying to figure out my daily calorie needs. If someone can break this up for me (give me daily calories to eat) for a 1.5 loss and a 2 lb loss per week: here are my stats: 135 lbs, 5'5. I am currently jogging/walking 45 minutes on the treadmill 4X a week with 10-15 strength training 3 times a week. I'm eating about 1300 calories as a guestimate, but after two weeks nothing has budged on the scale. My diet is clean (no soft drinks, nothing but water, more protein) Am I eating too little/too much? I figure I burn about 300-350 calories each time I'm at the gym with my workout. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks
I haven't crunched your numbers, but my initial reaction is that you're eating too little. I'm 5'11", nursing a 1 year old, and at the time weighed 190. I went down to 1800 cals/day and didn't lose anything for two weeks. I bumped up to 2000 and have been dropping weight ever since. Just a pound a week, just what I wanted.
Good luck, Kathy
I"m having the same trouble, I found this link that might help http://weightloss.about.com/od/eatsmart/a/blc alintake.htm
it's more number crunching but I think it should point you in the right direction
I agree that you are eating too few calories. I used the CC tools and came up with no less than 1400 calories per day for you. Of course, I didn't know your age which can factor in. I used 25.
