Question about DDR

Quote  |  Reply

How can you count the amount of calories burnt on DDR?

I play DDR often for Cardio. I also do some Pilates exercises, real dancing routines and some other things but that's besides the point. I can play most heavy modes on each of my games, though I can't do rapid crazy steps that sometime brink on challenge level.

I have no idea how much calories I burn playing it. Per song, in workout mode, I burn like 20 Kcal. Some are more, like 30 kcal. I have no idea what that means and I get kinda depressed, thinking that this must be a measurement means that 1000 Kcal = 1 calorie. I feel like I do alot of exercise when I play the game at the level I am at now. I sweat like people in a Gatorade commercial when I play it and start to feel it in my body.

Can anyone tell me properly how to count the amount of calories I burn? Sorry if I seem stupid or something.

iuno exactly but i know they also give u examples like in 1 hard song will be like swiming so far or jumpping rope its in the bottom part of the stats try going by that.
actually calories=kilocalories...we just refer to all kcal as cal to make life easier.
K cal is the correct measurement for what we call calorie.  Of course it depends on the song and difficulty level but I know when I do 30 min of workout mode, with the songs I pick, I burn about 250 calories. I play mostly the faster songs on Light mode on DDR Max or DDR Max 2 and some basic, some difficult on Hottest Party (Wii)   This is close to the calories "low impact aerobics" burns which seems reasonable to me.
If you got a heartRate monitor -  lots of them have features where you input all of your vitals - and it'll spit out your calories burnt - no matter what activity you're doing.
