Question about 2 different dvds: Jackie Warner/Firm 500 calorie workouts
I have just received two DVDs I ordered on line.
They are:
Jackie Warner's Workout Dvd (not the show, but an actual workout cut up in three segments where she has you work on your upper body, then the second one is lower body and the third is abs.)
AND
The Firm: 500 calorie workout. (Oh my god, I previewed this last night just to get an idea of what it was. Geez..How people can keep up is beyond me the instructor doesn't really explain the moves to you she just shouts the name of each move and they do it really fast. Heh.)
Anyway....What would you guys classify either of these dvds as (if you do have either of them.) in the activity browser?
I just got a heart rate monitor as well and a high tech pedometer. I just have no clue how to work them or get them set up for that matter. Lmao! So I have to use the activity browser once again for the day. :/
Thanks to all in advance!
Anyone?
For some reason aerobics is filed under Dancing - it's either some variation on aerobics or you can use one of the calisthenics entries:
- Calisthenics - Home Exercise, Light or Moderate Effort, General (Example: Back Exercises), Going Up & Down From Floor
- Calisthenics - (e.g Pushups, Situps, Pullups, Jumping Jacks), Heavy, Vigorous Effort
From the description, I doubt light/moderate is appropriate in either case ;)
I have the FIRM DVD, but I've only done it once. The fact that the instructor doesn't move and cue to the beat of the music drives me absolutely batty! Poor editing from the FIRM on that one. Too bad, because the moves are fun and it is a good workout. I'm a musician, so I just can't seem to get around the off-rhythm stuff.
I'm not familiar with the first one you mentioned. However, I use a lot of workout videos, and my personal favorites are Ripped 1000 by Jari Love and pretty much anything by Cathe Friedrich. You can check them out with free previews at collagevideo.com. I love that site! LOL They should pay me for how much I mention them on here!
I bought the FIRM DVD, 500 calorie and tried it for the second time today. You are right as they do not show you the steps and figure that you know them I guess. It is beyond what I can do without a DVD showing all the moves that we can learn or doing them more slowly for the first segment????? Wish I hadn't bought it. I have two other FIRM DVDs and like them much better.
I do have a question about Leslie Sansone's Walk at home - the 5 mile Fat Buring Walk. I use it but is it doing me any good or should I go back to my treadmill? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
