Question about the effectiveness of daily exercise:

Quote  |  Reply

Well, along with whatever activities I do during the day I've recently started to 4 minutes of ab workouts, 4 minutes of arm workouts, and 4 minutes and thigh/leg workouts nightly. Will this be effective for seeing muscle definition? I'm not going to gorge myself at meals either, but I'm not creating as big a deficit as I used to. Will I still see my body tone up?

Depends on what the workouts are.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you probably need more than 12 minutes a day of exercise to see muscle definition.

If you want muscle definition, lift heavy weights, period.

If you want muscle definition, you need to cut body fat.

4 minutes? Why so little? You would be better off lifting heavy 3 days a week. Not consecutive if you want to see some real results.

if its more than you were doing before, then its amazing! as you get stronger you will want to increase either you weights or your time or both. thats true no matter how fit you are. good luck!

pshh, everyone knows you need to workout for at least 7 minutes to see muscle definition.  It's like a biological fact.

Sorry if this sounds cynical, but I wouldn't create a smaller calorie deficit due to adding 12 minutes of exercise.   I don't know your specific situation so I can't give much advice, but I will say that it's recommended that everyone do at least 30 minutes of exercise daily for good health.  If you can, maybe start taking walks on top of the strengthening exercises.  Then calculate your burn and add some calories accordingly.

I feel the need to correct you..it's  6.8 minutes. 6.7 and your muscles disappear...6.9 and your muscles turn to FAT. You MUST keep it at 6.8 in order to achieve cut muscles!
