Allo. Quick question. I've been home sick with a sinus infection for two weeks, and since then the scale has stayed the same (130-135) but I feel and look SO much bigger. Like, my stomach is the size it was when I was 143 (it looks it at least, I haven't measured). I was blaming it on my period but that ended last week. I'm thinking that maybe being sick has removed some water from my body, and maybe thats why fat gain isn't reading on the scale? I really hope thats not it though :/ Thanks if you answer, thanks anyways if you dont.

Could easily be water retention, especially if you have been on meds for the sinus infection.

Focus on getting better (which includes drinking lots of water, and eating good food), and then worry about weight loss.

yes i agree with amethystgirl.  don't stress yourself out with gaining weight right now.  you need to get better.  just focus on eating healthy and keeping hydrated.

good luck and get better soon!

Two weeks is a long sinus infection!

Did you get put on steroids to help clear it up? (used to happen to me regularly with my bad ones)  If so, that's probably what's causing the temporary weight gain.  It will come off, once you're back on your eating/exercizing schedule.

If not steroids, it's probably your body retaining water and going into "emergency lockdown mode" and hanging on to more calories while you fight off the infection.  Again, I'm sure any extra weight from that will disappear once you're well.

Either way, don't try to crash diet off any real or perceived extra pounds.  Just slowly get back into your normal routine, and you'll be fine.

Antibiotics maybe? They are rough on all of your systems and might be making you retain water.

I would just focus on getting your overall health back.

Hope you feel better.

Thanks for all your replies :] I am on antibiotics, but they just put me on them a couple days ago. So its probably just being sick.

Thanks again :]
