I've been doing pretty good at excersizing, but the past 2 days, not so much..Yesterday my calves were killing me from a work out the previous day, so I didnt walk, or anything else, outside of everyday stuff, and today I had my grand daughter all day and its pouring outside now, so no walk again..Ive ate between 1100-1300 calories both days..Will this have a negative effect on weight loss? I've lost only 2lbs  since I started 2 weeks ago. I've continued to drink water, no loss, but no gain either. Would chasing a 16 month old around for 6 hours be enough to make up for not purposely walking ya think? thanks

Now that Ive read this over, it sounds like kind of a silly question...paranoid maybe..I took care of my Grampa for a couple years hen he lived on his own, then had him come to live with me for health reasons, and he passed away this past January. It was during that time I gained the extra 35lbs, and I'm just now getting back into my own game and doing things for myself. This has meant everything to me since I made the decision to try, maybe I'm obsessing abit...I am just terrified of derailing this before it really gets started, I dont want to feel that kind of disappointment. Thanks for allowing me to vent
Welcome to the site... you sound like a really caring person.. and I just looked at your profile...  You've been thru a lot ...   dont rush yourself..  this  is a life change...   the more you eat healthy, the better you will feel... this is something that you are doing for yourself...   the scale will work out..

and yes..  as a gramma myself...  if you chased the kid around for 6 hours its like 3 workouts...  :-)
Thank you for the kind words Kai..Sometimes I just need a kick in the booty to get re focused I think..lol I bought this new scale now I kinda wish I hadnt, first thing every morning, I'm there. I do feel much better in the past couple weeks, no comparison to the level of energy, its doubled. Now I wanna see the numbers... ;)
It's not a silly question, don't worry about it.
I don't think it will have much of a negative affect.
I do think the chasing  will make up for it. ;)
Have patience you'll get there. :)

Do you mind if I add you as a friend? I like the way you come across. :)
Welcome nanajo! I don't think you have to worry about derailing things - just keep the attitude you're showing in your post and that will keep you on track.

I'd like to offer some advice on the calf issue - if you don't mind. I've found stretching on a regular basis will virtually eliminate the sore calves and shins from walking. Stretch often, especially your calves(and legs in general) - that's what I did and do now and haven't had any problems in a long time. Now my only problem area is my feet!

Good-luck! And keep on keepin' on!
thanks all

hubbaji, the calf soreness was actually from an excersize I did where you go from flat footed up to your tip-toes, only you do it on the edge of a step, so your foot dips down below the level it started from. I did 40 and actually stretched afterward, but holy moly I could barely walk after sleeping or sitting for 2 days!

My thing is since Oct 6th I go back and forth from 170 to 172.5, like I gained a 1 1/2lbs since yesterday. I've tried mixing things up abit as suggested here quite abit, but it doesnt seem to be working yet. I guess I thought that a few pounds at the beginning wouldnt be this hard, so getting started on the actual weight loss hasnt even happened yet. I'm not caving in this time, just depressing waiting for that first number under 170
I've been on this site for 2 1/2 months and I havent lost a pound...  but I feel amazing...  so.. I will keep on..  I spent 35 years eating like a sick person  ..  starving..  binging, bulimia, etc...   I have weighed as much as 248 lbs..  and as little as 127 lbs...   its going to take time for my body to realize that this is something that is never going to happen again..

I started jogging last week..  I havent done that in 15 years...  and I do taikwando 4 days a week...   I am strong and flexible..   and I feel wonderful.. so..   I will keep eating healthy, tracking my calories, posting on here, and I know i will eventually lose weight...

The only hint I have for you is stay off the scale...  I put mine in the drawer in the bathroom..  only take it out once a month or so... thats enough..

cheers
Seraph, sorry I missed your post, I added you as a friend also thanks :)

Wow Kai thats great that you have made such changes, WAY TO GO!  I did the starving thing when I was late teens early 20s, all it got me besides weight loss that didnt last, was my gall bladder out in my mid 20s. I'm 171.5 now, most I've ever weighed, hell I didnt gain like this when I was pregnant years ago.  I agree Kai in not giving up, I too feel so much better after just a couple weeks of changes..Plus this is the most important venture in my life at the moment, and I'm gonna make the kind of changes that last this time :)
No problem. :D
