k this might be a stupid post, but i think it's physcially impossible
for me to lose more weight! i heard about the set point theory that
your body tries to get back to its original weight after you lose a
lot. i get huge cravings for sugary foods like never before. i jsut
want to eat and eat 24/7. i've gotten rid of all the junk food in the hosue, but i'll even eat loads of oatmeal or tofu. i've had days of eating like 2500 calories! before i never ate at night, but now i eat
like 10 minutes before falling asleep and it's sooo gross sleeping with
a load of food in your stomach. i wasn't like this before when i
weighed more and i always made sure i exercised to make up for eating stuff. is it possible for your body to like rebel against you
and stop you from losing weight??

First of all, never say never. You control your eating, your eating doesn't control you.
Find something light such as yogurt, fruit, veggies or something that you can have as a planned snack before you go to bed.
I am sure you will be losing weight in no time once you find out what works best for you. :)
Good Luck!
thanks for the tips. i've always tried to plan my meals, but i never follow my plans lol, but maybe i'll try that again, because lately, i've just been eating large amounts of food whenever i want :(
What do you weigh, how old are you, what are your goals?
I think you may be depriving yourself to the point that you're binging. You might consider seeing a nutritional counselor, or start talking to other members for some support. Personally, I can go through a pound of broccoli, but since that's about 200 calories and leaves me very full, it's not so bad.
Try retraining yourself to eat in a better pattern. Eat breakfast if you're one of those people, or drink coffee and milk if you're like me. Measure out each meal or buy frozen meals so that you know exactly what you're eating. 300-500 calories per meal. Add in a 100 calorie snack in between meals. Eat your last meal 4 hours before going to bed, your last snack 1-2 hours before going to bed and switch to ice water or uncaffinated tea...if you need to nibble a bit, restrict yourself to something like celery or a small amount of fruit.
As you work on it, you should find the eating habits that work best for you. For instance, I do not like to eat breakfast most of the time, I prefer to drink coffee with 1/2 cup of milk per mug...it ends up being about 150 calories and for me it counts as breakfast. When I eat lunch, it's usually at my desk and I eat a bit, do some work, eat a bit more, it takes me about 30-60 minutes to eat lunch. I often eat a snack, get some exercise, and then dinner I eat if I go out or I eat the main part, go back for some vegetables, go back for a bit more. Do not eat in the same location as you store your food...no eating in the kitchen and no storing snacks in the bedroom.
I weigh myself every morning, so that's a deterrent for eating late at night. If I eat a meal at night, I weigh 2 pounds more when I weigh myself because my body hasn't finished processing the meal.
Good munchies: Cucumber spears, celery, sprayed with wishbone dressing, popcorn popped with a microwave popper and no butter. Pea pods, edamame.
If you need to, premeasure whatever you're going to eat and if you want to go back for another batch, make the second batch half the size of the first.

What kinds of food are you eating?
One thing I like about fruit for my snacks is that they are fairly low calorie and I can eat a larger quantity of them than I could crackers or something. That also goes for carrots, celery, etc.

i'm 5 4 and i weigh around 114, used to be 112 before i started eating like crazy. my goal is 105 and then i might get to 100.
i always try to eat 300-500 per meal, but i usually always want to go back for more, which always leads to binging. my mom leaves out celery or other veggies for me to nibble on and it's a great strategy, but it doesn't satisfy me anymore. i used to eat loads of veggies, but now, all i want is a donut or muffin. she evens hides the fattening food, because she knows i binge like crazy now, but i can just go out and get food lol.
i like the idea of not eating in the kitchen... i think if i eat downstairs, i'll be too lazy to go back up for more food lol. i don't know how people can eat lunch in 30 - 60 minutes. when i get food, i eat it right away, usually in less than 5 minutes. i just get excited when i'm around food... i try eating slowly, but i have no control!
thanks for the tips :)

At 5'4 and 114 lbs your BMI is 17.2 which is classified as underweight.....I'm sorry if I sound rude, but just wanted to point that out.
Maybe your body is telling you to eat for a reason?

You sound like you are at a healthy weight.
If you are wanting to lose more weight I would definitely consult with your physician to make sure it is a healthy weight loss.
Since you are at a good weight already, you might want to concentrate more on exercising. The more you exercise, the more you can eat as well. :)

no, i think you calculated it wrong. my bmi is around 19, which is normal. anyway, i think i developed compulsive overeating disorder. i just looked it up and i have all the symptoms. haha
yeah, i should exercise more, but i've lost ALL motivation to exercise. i used to do lots of cardio and weight training, but i just can't jog for more than 5 minutes now. it's so sad :(
Do you have an elliptical or treadmill at home that you can use? Even walking is great exercise.
Weight training is great too!
If you don't mind me asking, but why do you feel that 100lbs-105lbs is a healthy (goal) weight for you?

i have a treadmill and and a lot of exercise videos. i have no motivation to use them anymore, but maybe that's just because i've been so stressed with exams. i dno. i hope i'll be more motivated when i'm done.
i want to be 100, because it's a nice even number. ever since i started losing weight, i've just wanted to get lower and lower. my original goal was 130, then 125 and 120. i think when i get to 100, i'll probably want 90.

Then if it is all about a number and you think you will want to go even lower once you reach your next goal... I would definitely suggest speaking to your doctor about it.
Have you talked to your Mom about how you feel about your weight?
Is it all about the number to you or do you feel that you are "fat" or what not?

no i don't think i'm fat. i just want to be even thinner and i feel so accomplished when i lose weight. i've gained like 2 lbs from eating without any control, so i'm paranoid that people will see the weight gain, but i still can't stop eating and it's making me so depressed. like last week, i ate about 1500 calories for lunch in one sitting and then ate 700 for dinner.
my mom just comments on my weight loss positively. if i told her my goal, she'd probably freak out, but she doesn't suspect i'm trying to lose more weight, since i eat the house now lol.

Maybe you need a break. If you are not in the mood to exercise...be active in other ways. Go swimming, go camping with friends...go for an overnight bike excursion etc. Do something that will get you moving, but that you will enjoy.
Try not to be so hard on yourself.

I agree with kellygreen. Try other activities if you are burned out on working out with equipment.
If you are serious about wanting to lose weight then I would advise to talk to your mother and your doctor. 100lbs-90lbs is not a healthy weight for 5'4" unless you are naturally that skinny. But not to work so hard for. I know you said your mom would freak out, but that's because she cares about you and that is not a healthy weight.
Trust me, you don't want to harm your body at 18 years old. You are young still and the last thing you want is to cause permanent damage that is going to make your 30s feel like you are in your 50s.
If you want to be thinner, concentrate on building muscles to slim down. But I would continue eating what you want in moderations and a healthy form since obviously your body is telling you that you need it.
