I have a question!!!

Hey, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out with this. I know that it is very common for people with anorexia to loose their periods, but what I was wodering is weather or not this still occurs if you are taking birth control pills. They regulate your period and make it so that you get it monthly so even if you're not eating anywhere near enough is it possible for your period to stop while on the pill?

anyone???
If you're on the pill and your period has stopped, I would recommend calling your doctor's office and explaining your situation.  Whether or not it is a cause for concern is something that they can best advise you on.
I hasn't stopped, thats the thing, but I eat WAY under what I need and my BMI is around 16.5. I am on the pill though...so I just want to know weather or not it's possible for your periods to stop due to anorexia while you're on the pill. Because under my circumstances I should have lost it a while ago... I'm just curious as to why I haven't and thought it might be due to the fact that I'm on the pill. anyone?

My BMI is 16.3, and my periods have lightened, but I still have them. They are irregular, and I have some mid cycle breakthrough bleeding... I dont take any medicaiton...
Are you trying to gain weight?  Your BMI is very low and since you're checking to see if there's anything wrong with you, making an appointment with your doctor or a health care professional might be a good idea.

Everyone is different, but yes it is most likely that you are still geting your period because you are on the pill. Many doctors who are treating people for anorexia, to aid in their recovery and while trying to gain weight, the doctor puts them on the pill so that they get a period again.

Are you getting treatment for your anorexia. I really encourage you to seek help if you arent already. I suffer from an ED, and have recently asked for help. I know im not going to be fixed over night but its a start. Please, if you are not already getting treatment, seek help. With your BMI so low, your body is under huge stress, your organs are likely to start failing, you will start getting very sick.
