Question

Quote  |  Reply

Not sure where to ask this question...but should I enter how many glasses of water I have drank in a day to my log.  I'm an avid water drinker and I drown myself everyday but does the system do anything with that information?  Or should I just leave it out?

Let me know if there is somewhere else I'm supposed to look for this info.  I'm new here, just joined today...thanks!

Hey there & welcome!

You will probably find that the general consensus would be to not bother logging the water UNLESS you add anything to it that has calories. If you are drinking plain ol' water, no need to log. But if you are drinking Propel, Gatorade, Vitamin Water, ect. -  I would log them.

So, for me - I don't bother logging water, tea or coffee because I have em' all straight up with no milk or sugar. If I do add something to it, then I will seperately log the sugar, milk, ect.

I used to not count liquid calories (and was an avid Vitamin Water drinker) but since joining CC I have started to log all calories.

Thanks, that's what I thought!

Welcome aboard!!  I log everything, including water...just one more thing to keep me honest.  Good luck on reaching your fitness goals. - Wanda

I don't log it because I don't have a "goal" for drinking water. My goal is to just keep myself hydrated and never quench my thirst with anything sweetened (one thing I do when I'm thirsty is drink lots of water and then sip my diet coke afterward!)

But if you have a goal of "drinking x oz of water a day" then it might not be a bad idea.

I don't log water.  It does add to your total grams of food intake for the day.  So if you look at the analysis page and you have been logging water it will say you've consumed a lot more grams of food than calories.  But I don't think it really has an effect on your overall day.

I log my water intake, and I do have a goal (around 60 fl oz a day). From logging, I noticed a trend where I feel better in general on days I drink more water.

i log mine

Feeling better on days you drink more? Emotionally wise or physically fit wise. That would do for a good study!
