Weight Loss

I just got my period for the first time since march. (I got it in September and October while I was on birth control. When I say the first time, I mean the first time without having an outside stimulus.) What I'm wondering is why I got it. I've recently upped my fat intake from 20% to 25-30%m so that could be it. I've also increased my calorie intake a little bit, but I never really know how many calories I eat because I tend to stop logging after around 4 PM. I have been developing a whole lot more muscle tone and I have also been working out a good deal. I don't understand what made my period come back, but I'd like it if it would keep coming on its own. Has anyone had a similar experience and does anyone know if this means I will start gaining weight again? My period went away when I started losing weight. Now it's back, and I haven't been losing anymore. (I've been about the same weight since last May anyways...) I just want to know how to maintain my period and lose the last ten pounds or so so I can get to my goal weight.

Your period is very tightly related to the amount of fat your body carries (or is eaten). Loss of your period while dieting is not a good sign, and usually indicates you have decreased your fat intake too much. That is why so many annoerexic women lose thier period. Fat is important for many metabolic functions within your body - it is important to ingest some fats daily.
It does not mean you will start gaining weight again, it means a) that you are eating enough fats for your body to work and you wil get another period next month; or b) that the "period" lining your uterus has built up so much that shed itself - and you may not get another for months.
Really you should seek medical advice, and possibly track you hormal changes over a month to find out what is going on.
Looking at you ticker - you may be at the optimal weight for you body anyway!

i gained my period back with a higher fat intake. don't go below 20 grams daily (bare minimum).
if u lose it again, go to your gyno and restart your period.
