question for grey's anatomy fans

I don't see the show often but I watched the premiere and was wondering

1) what is the deal with Alex and Izzie? why did he start acting like an a-hole?

2) who was the guy at the end that Izzie is with? I got the impression it's someone who died?

Sloane is currently my favourite character. "The Sloane Method" made me lol.

Except for Lexie.  Originally she was there to provide tension for Meredith.  Now she is an admirer of George.

Maybe not an admirer much longer....did you see Lexie tell him off at the end?

Yeah - she's hurt.  She'll still carry a torch for a while.  Hoping that he will wake up.
