Question, this does not make sense! Plz help me figure it out..
Hi All,
A few months ago i was in the low 120's. Now im in the low 130's. I've eaten normally! i dont get it - im just recovering from a long week bout of the stomach flu since school started - could this be it?
Whats wrong with me? My clothes fit exactly the same if not looser, i would have to say! The scale wont budge.
Er, any explainations?
...dehydration, electrolytes...?
Thanks!
If you work out your body may have developed more muscle and lost some fat. Weight can go up while the body tightens up.
good thought...except i dont work out that much...
?
i could be entirely mistaken in thinking i recall you are recovering from being underweight?
if you have primarily gained a lot of fat mass, your body composition could naturally be reverting to a leaner state if your genetics push you in that direction and you are more active now with have more energy to do things.
also, if you were sick for a bit and were very dehydrated at the time, your body could be holding onto more water now until it trusts that it has a consistently adequate supply again.
those are just my ideas. try not to sweat it too much if your clothes are still fitting fine and you feel healthy <3
Reading another post of yours am I right in saying that you're male, 6'0" tall and 18 years old?... You were suffering from dizzy spells at the time. A healthy weight for a young man your age is 143 - 189lbs.... At 120lbs you were dangerously underweight. Even at 130lbs you are still significantly underweight. At 18 it's also highly possible that your body is still growing.
I would suggest you see your doctor soon for a physical check-up and ask for some advice on how to gain weight..... 150lbs would be a good target for you to aim for. 'Eating normally' is going to have to increase to 3500-4000 calories a day, for example, depending on how much exercise you do.
I would suggest that whilst you were sick you weren't eating much and as such your body entered starvation mode so is now storing, you should find that you will level out in the next couple of weeks as your body returns to normal.
Could this just be needed weight gain that happened over the few months? If you needed to gain and lets say it has been 2 or 3 months that is not that much. I'm confused on the flu issue since that was a week and you said the gain has been over 2 to 3 months. If there has been a major change in a week it is due to probably water and or a slow metabolism. Are you eating an adequate meal plan?
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
