Question: Need clarification
Hey everyone. I have a question. Well, I have been on calorie count for 2 months. My status is Light Activity but, I have a desk job and walk every chance I get. Always use the stairs and walk about 6 blocks to and from the Train station. Would you say it is safe to consider this light or should I have it sedentary?
The other thing is that I work out 7 days a week and normally on light activity am burning 3050 calories. After my workouts I usually punch out an additional 1000 maybe around 800 the days I work. Usually consisting of:
Weekdays:
Cardio: 20 Vigorous Effort Stationary Bike
Weight Lifting: 20 Minutes
Calesthenics: 15
Weekends:
Cardio: 30 Vigorous Effort Stationary Bike
Weight Lifting: 25 Minutes
Calesthenics: 25
Walk: 3 Miles
My brother says that I should not work out 7 days week and I should rest one day. Dont see the point as I want to be as active as possible.
Last question:
I was eating 1800 calories before and last week I amped it cause I was not seeing much weight loss on the scale. Although I feel thinner and also feel leaner but how many calories should I eat? Calorie count says 2200 but with my workouts it should be more but can not eat that much. If any one can help or tell me your stories that would be much appreciated cause I am starting to feel that I am in the dark without a flash light.

My answer to this is to keep at sedentary and log the stairs and walking. Keep in mind that sedenary doesn't mean planted (like a turnip), it just means not particularly active.

Exercise, particularly exercise that builds muscle, is a somewhat destructive process. Muscles grow by being torn and then healing. You need a day off to let that healing happen.

If your weight loss has stalled, you may not be eating enough food. When you don't eat enough, you can push yourself into starvation mode. Try upping your calories by 100 per day for an entire week until start loosing weight again. 100 calories isn't much - that's a Yoplait yogurt or a regular Coke or a slice of bread.
Thanks for the info. Good advice. Changed my burn meter and starting to notice the difference.
