Question about T3/T4 hyperthyroid, hypothyroid?

Quote  |  Reply

I cant remember if my results for T3 or T4 were low, I know it was one of them.

My question is when the number is low on either of those does it indicate hyPERthyroid or hyPOthyroid?

My aunt said it means hypothyroid, because the number is small so there isnt alot of it being produced, but I asked a question about something to a nurse taking my blood (she doesnt know my results it was just a question about low T3/4's) and she said low numbers meant hyperthyroid?
Im confused ):

the nurse was probably referring to TSH.  Low TSH indicates hyperthyroid.

I just looked it up more thoroughly and got that same answer, haha.

Thank you for your reply though.
