question about waking up and eating

I have a question.  I was wondering if eating in the middle of the night like say 1am or 2am or even 3am is detrimental to my weight loss goals?  I am good at not overeating throughout the day anymore and I excersise some times at the gym and bike everywhere I go.  I have trouble with my sleeping.  I usually wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but after i go to the bathroom I always go straight to the refridgerator (conciouslly) and find that i MUST have something to eat before going back to bed.

 Now I've read that with lack of sleeping it can slow your metabolism down, or eating at night can do damage to your weight loss efforts because those sleeping hours are times when your body is cleanings out something or other, and it messes up the repair system of something or other...i'm not reallly sure.

But is this true?  I would like to sleep throughout the night but i have been having a problem with night eating syndrome and even tho i eat the right amount of calories during the day (some time less...because i know ill use em up at night time eating)  I find I am not loosing any weight.  I used to be 102 and now am 109 and feel very insecure about how the weight is appearing on my body.

 

For example ..I ate very little all day I wasn't hungry.  But I woke up  from my sleep and ate 7 rugelach square cookies and a square of chocolate rainbow cake

I know it wasnt the best choice but I didnt eat anything all day and felt I might deserve it and there was nothing else in house to eat. I don't want any advice like eat more throughout the day etc etc because today was just weird and inconvienent for me to eat a lot throughout the  day.  I had a HUGE binge the previous day such a big binge it left my stomach hurt and bloated. and was hungover from alcohol and also really broke at the time. So i felt as if my body needed a rest from the overconsumption of food so i gave it a rest and ate very minimum today except for just now.  So please give me advice other then eat more during the day because i know this.  Thanks

The definition of madness is to repeat the same action but expect a different outcome.   Starving leads to bingeing and night eating.   You've posted more or less this exact same 'problem' over and over again.

Ifyou keep ignoring the answers because you think you know best, you'll be posting the same thing next month, the month after and ad infinitum.

You might want to be 102lbs but it's time to accept that's not realistic.   Stop fighting nature, stop trying to disappear and start respecting the body you've got a little more than you do.   You might not want to hear 'eat more throughout the day' but that's the only thing that will fix it.  Regular meals, nourishing foods, 2000 cals a day minimum ..... it's commonsense.

You may not want to hear it, but GI-jane had it right: common sense! Eat regularly throughout the day, and you won't wake up at 1 am, ravishing. From your old posts, I saw that you are, or have, suffered from an ED and binge eating disorder...correct? Did you get proper help for this?

yeah sort of but obviously not good enough help to keep me from binging sometimes and hzving fear foods and an unhealthy relationship with foods
