i know that boiling water sterilizes it, but i'm just curious.. if water was left in a kettle for a few days and then you boiled it, would it be safe to drink again, or would it still be considered stagnant and unsafe?

It'd be fine... Might taste a little 'metallic' perhaps but if you'd re-boiled it there would be no bacteria.

I do that all the time! I am just fine, no need to worry! ha !

I did that all the time at my old job cause we used to have tea time. No biggie just make sure the inside isnt dirty.
