Just a question on weight fluctuation

Quote  |  Reply

for about the last 2 weeks, Ive been trying to just maintain. Eating anywhere from 1900-2500 calories a day. I used to eat 1200-1400 calories a day when I was losing then realized that Im happy with the way Iam now and its not necessary

I was just wondering how much weight fluctuation is normal?

I weigh myself everyday, usually an hour after breakfast (yes i know its not my "true" weight) but thats just the way Ive always done it because we dont own a scale (thank God) and I usually use the gyms scale.

I weighed myself friday and was 117.80 On saturday I weighed my self and it was 120.20lbs, and then today I weigh myself and Im 116.65lbs. Never in my life have I ever been 116  (not that Im complaining) Im just usually around 118-120, so how did I go from that to 116 ??

Does anyone elses weight change that much just over a couple days??

I havent changed my diet, I didnt eat any more salt or anything then normal. Could it be water retention since Ive been lifting heavier weights???

mine fluctuates a lot and is usually up on days after my strength training. I've gone up 6lbs, back down in 2 days. Kind of shocking at the scale, but i actually feel thinner those days. Weird.

my daily weight is all over the place. I only record it one day a week though.

Weight can fluctuate a lot, especially if you are doing anything different.  Even standing differently on the scale can do it.  Focus on the trendline, and not on your daily weight, to save your sanity.

Mine fluctuates a lt depending on my exercise and how salty my foods have been.  I'm about 3 pounds heavier than normal this morning because of a lot of salty food this weekend.   My wedding ring is quite snug which is my best indicator of water weight.

There is also another forum I am on, and one of the guys fluctuates 10-12 pounds if he has a few beers on Friday.  His weight is always back to normal within 3-4 days.

totally fluctuates - mostly water weight....usually when i wake up in the morning i'm 108-109.....after eating i'll be more.....after the gym i go down to about 105......(obviously dehydration)....

i've been trying to weigh myself once a week....usually on a friday morning - i find that if i eat a lot over the weekend i gain a lot of water weight and it's discouraging come sunday or monday morning hahahah....

i've stayed between 107-110 for the last 6 months with my weekly weigh ins.. i would suggest to just continue to weigh yourself at the gym but try to make sure it's before you workout...b/c you obviously sweat a lot when you workout and it will give you a poor idea of how much you weigh

crazydiamondchrysalis I also find that I always weigh a little more after a day of strength training, figured it was water on the muscles trying to repair them (I always hope that its muscle gain though haha)

thanks alot for the responses guys, makes me feel alot better knowing im not just going crazyyyyy!! haha

:)
