Question for the women out there! Please help!

Ok so I started my diet a month ago today and since then I have lost a total of 5Lbs. I'm very proud of myself and couldn't have done it with out my husband's help. But I have since started my period yesterday and I got on the scale this morning and its telling me that I have gained back 3Lbs! I don't think I really did I think it might just be water retention. So my question has any of you ever noticed from month to month how much your weight changes during your period? I guess I'm just trying to get a rough estimate of what I can expect to come off after my period is over. Thanks for your time.

usually I gain anywhere from 3 to 8 pounds... they usually come off within the next two or three days after I come off it. It's all water weight, rest assured.
careful of the sodium around ure period--it holds water like nobody's business...
3-5 lbs is my average gain

3- 10 lbs depending on sodium and water intake prior to starting. Thankfully it "disappears" within 3-5 days.
it's so annoying, innit?  I serioulsy have to wear skirts when i have my period and even then i'm totally grossed out because i feel my legs brushing against eachother.  eugh.  anyway, i usually gain somehwere from 3-6.  It's bad.  But when i have my little "visitor" i throw all caution to the wind and consume sodium like crazy.  it's my main vice.  :) hope you have better luck.  :)
I often gain as much as 5 lbs when I have my period.  It appears magically overnight!  I try not to sweat it, because it dissapears again along with my period.  I have found that staying well hydrated helps, though I'll still see a little jump on the scale.
On my weight graph here on CC, my weight has little spikes right around "that time of the month," every month. It is a very predictable 3-8 pound rise every month. Now that I have noticed the pattern I don't get so mad at myself when I know it's about time for my weight to spike a little, now it just lets me know my body is working normally and I have nothing to worry about.
