Questions Again

Quote  |  Reply

OK....a couple of questions for the group.

I have noticed, as I used the food browser that some of the Lean Cuisine's and various other items I eat for lunch are in the browser but they are not correct based on the box I just bought.  Is there a way to remove them or correct them?

Also, I was exploring the site and was looking at the calorie target.  Why isn't the calorie target I get there, the same as the calories on my eat meter?

Thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!

In your account settings, you can set the eat meter to a custom number.  CC will always err on the side of caution and safety when it sets your goals.

As far as the CC entries, this is due to manufacturers changing things around.  Often, I can find something similar that will have the same nutritional info (like a store brand listed under the parent brand).  Other times, it's just a matter of the maker changing the serving size.

If that is the case, when you click to add the item, after specifying the meal,  change the serving size to other if there is a drop down box and then enter the correct grams/oz under the weight.  For example, I did this last night with some pre-packaged apple slices and when I put in the grams on the package, the calories updated to match.

Then, there are some items that simply aren't in the database or that you can't alter.  I haven't tried to get any corrected, but I have read other forum posts that indicate that things are rarely/slowly updated.  For that, what I'll do is just manually add all of the details off of the nutritional info panel, and then tag (the little T button) it so I'll have it for quick use later.

I will just keep adding the foods that I see are wrong.  I usually end up copying from another day anyway....since I am a creature of habit.

As for the calories thing.  My Eat Meter is 2200 but the Calorie Target is 1790, which should I adhere to?  I am not eating 2200 in a day, but I am also not as low as 1790.  I hover around 2000.  Which might sound like alot, but prior to doing this, I was probably eating close to 4000 a day, easily.

Just curious and thank you for your info!

Sammarieob,

I don't know the answer.  My eat meter-daily goal is the same as my calorie target I set in my accounts.

I am like George.  I like the pringles stix which are 90 calories per pouch.  They are not listed in CC.  So I go to the pringles tubs which are 100 calories and enter amount as 0.9 serving which equals the correct calories.

The other day I had 1/2 of a quesadilla burger from Applebees.  It wasn't listed in CC.  So I found the calories online (259 for that half entree).  So I found "burger and just played with the serving size until it matched the actual calories I took in.

I am not so worried about the food for me cause I am anal and check it all, but if someone was taking it as "bible" then they could be eating more than they thought.

Now, I never set my calorie meter in the beginning.  I just filled in the data it asked for and it gave me 2200.  Will it lower as I lose weight?  Just curious.

My calorie meter initially set itself using my data, but from then on I have changed it myself when I lost weight and recalculated my daily intake goals. You might have to do the same unless there's a setting somewhere to make it change with your weight loss. So I'd say follow your Calorie Target, and change your meter display it so it matches.

Samarieob,

I understand being obsessive.  I am a bit that way myself, but I have to say, I didn't even notice the total on the eating meter.  I just used the one the calorie target told me to do when I recalculated it with my lower weight.

Well I will leave it at the 2200 for awhile or until I see no weight loss.  I weigh in on Saturday and lost again, and my period had just arrived too, so it must be working.  When and if CC lowers it, then I will adjust although I am hovering around 2000 daily.

thanks for everyone's input!!!

how would you know wat to change it to mine was set when i enter my info so i go by that

hstevens-when i got to my home page it gives me calories in my eat meter and of course what i have burned in my burn meter.  but one day i was playing around and when i put in my ultimate goal weight it dropped my caloric intake to 1790, which is far different than the 2200 it puts in my eat meter daily.

and the 2200 is what was there to begin with after i put in all my info.

i think i am still confused...LOL

Go to Tools then Calorie Target.  Set your current weight and your goal.  It will give you your calorie target.   It will also change it on your eat meter.

thanks sammarieob and textmom i will do that and morning another day awork it so never ending lol
