Hey my names Ashley and I have been recovering from anoerxia for about 2 months now. I started off at eating 3000 a day and than when summer started i started to wake up later and find it hrder to cram all my calories into 3 mels. Latley my calories end up to around 2,500 or less. While at 3,000 I was gaining slowly but when my calorie range decreased it caused rapid weight gain. I was wondering if there is a way to get my metabolism back up or what I should do? Could i simply just start over and eat 3,000 and my metabolism will get better or will that cause faster weight gain? Also how do you fit all your meals in a day? Its hard since it takes forever to eat. Thanks!
why are you sticking to just 3 meals a day? It would be easier to fit things in if you added in snacks and broke up your calorie intake a bit.
When I was doing 3000, I did it like this:
Breakfast = 600 cals
Snack = 200 cals
Lunch = 800 cals
Snack = 300 cals
Dinner = 800 cals
Snack = 300 cals
As much as I love my beauty sleep, I think (especially in the beginning of recovery, when your physical health is at stake) it is really important to prioritize. Getting in the 3000 calories should be one of your biggest priorities. Figure out what works for you. Snacks are a must. If you're staying up really late & sleeping in, why don't you just put breakfast in at night?
Another thing to think about is that right now, food is your medicine. You would die without it, and you need a lot of food to repair your body and become healthy again. If your doctor told you that you needed to take a certain amount of medicine or you would die, you would follow his advice, right? So pretend your doctor prescribed those 3000 calories. Take a healthy dose of food 6 times a day, to spread it out and keep your energy steady. For me, I made sure I woke up in time for breakfast. Really, it makes getting your medicine in much easier.
