hi! while i can't give you any scientific prove for anything i can say two things: my former employer lost about 50 lbs by following this diet. he was eating CRAZY amounts of food. just as he always used to, he just changed what he ate not how much. he became a freak about this diet and tried to convince all of us who worked together to follow it. when he provided us with the info it turned out i have been basicly following this diet my whole life!!! i am vegetarian and that's what the book recommended for me... anyways he's type 0, i'm type A. let's say we're both following this diet, sort of in my case, and he's lost 50lbs and i'm overweight. BUT he has developed serious health problems with kidneys and something called ketosis becasue he was eating almost only meet whole year long..

i guess that's all i know about this diet

I am A as well and as you know then it ays to basically stick to veggies and no to ea whole grains. well I have lost 42 pounds eating mosty all lean meats and when I do eat breads (sandwiches at lunch a n sometimes pasas for dinner) its always whole wheat....so I jus wasnt sure if it has worked for anyone else since it seems to be the opposite working for me lol.

and the adkins diet is basically all meat. they give you pee strips and say you WANT to go into ketosis....maybe thats what happened with your boss? well, we all know what happened to Dr.Adkins...

thanks for the info!

in short, the blood type diet is absurd - of course, there's always a tiny percentage of people for whom every kooky idea works.  don't take that to mean that the theory behind it is sound (since in this case it's not!)
