just a quick brag
So my total weight loss so far is as follows:
Beginning weight : 130 lbs.
Current weight : 117 lbs.
Old measurements - stomach - 35 in. waist - 31 in. upper arm - 10 1/2
New measurments - stomach - 31 in. waist - 28 in. upper arm - 9 1/2
Old body fat - 23%
New body fat - 18.8%
I have lost 13 LBS!!!! 8 Inches!!! and almost 5% body fat!!!!
YAY! Today is a good day!!

wow! how amazing! how long did it take you to do that? and what did you do?
I started the day after Christimas, so since Dec 26th. Not that long, around 3 months. I am not at my goal yet though, I have 2 lbs. left.
I started when my room-mate went to a dietician. My eating habits had caused me to gain the dreaded freshman 15, or at least a fraction of it, and I wanted to change. Her dietician told her to eat anything she wanted to in moderation and be smart about it. If you want fried chicken, just take the skin off. Got a craving for pizza? Eat thin crust cheese. It was easy to follow. If I go out with my boyfriend for ice cream, I will get whatever I want in a child's cup. Its not that hard!
Also I added in a lot of exercise. I used to hate going to the gym so much. It would pain me to even think about it. But now it is so routine to me that I love it. It is an escape from the books and I can really feel the changes in my body. So I usually workout anywhere from 5-7 days a week for about an hour.
Another thing is I have a cheat meal. When I started I had to been real strict with myself during the week because I love food and I love to over-eat, which would sabatoge my plan. So on weekends I would take one meal and eat whatever I wanted to. I would get alfredo at a resaturant for example. In moderation of course. Overall I would recommend going to see a dietician. It really put it into perspective for me.

Hey that's really great! I started my MBA and gained 10 pounds and have been working my butt off (literally) since New Year's to get back down to my "normal" size. I've lost 9 pounds so far, one more to go for my first goal and about 5 more for my ultimate goal. I tell you what though, my period throws me off because I just want to eat everything! I really love eating and try to do the same - eat what I love in smaller portions.
