QUICK! Please help me resist!!
There are cookies in the office - fresh, delicious, homemade cookies!! Help!!
I'm following my plan for today for 1500 calories, and will be able to add 300 to that for my workout today.....which is great because we have "girls night" tonight while our husbands are at their men's church retreat, and there will be some goodies there I'd like to have - trying to save up for a little treat while I'm there.
But, I'm hungry and craving! Here's what I've had today:
Scrambled eggs (1 egg, 2 whites) w/ tomato, mushrooms, lean ham, and light mozz string cheese cut up and melted in it.
Big salad (lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, carrots and Newman's Own light dressing) and a Boca burger for lunch
2 String cheese and manderin oranges for snack - still have one yogurt alloted for snack too.
Dinner will be ground turkey tomato sauce w/ spaghetti and the same salad as I had for lunch minus the boca burger.
That puts me at around 1300-1400 for the day (can't remember the exact number).
I'm not particularly hungry (stomach not growling), but I feel that craving - going to get home and eat everything in sight - feeling coming on.....and I got an email from a coworker that the most delicious cookies ever are at her desk for the taking.
I just need an encouraging word, "NO, DON"T DO IT!!!!" warning, anything! Thanks :)
Just think, is that cookie worth setting you back on your way to your goal? Is it really going to be that good? Or are you just wanting it because it's there?
I just keep thinking to myself "Size 8, 150 pounds, Size 8, 150 pounds."
Chant your goal like it's a mantra.
You are stronger than a little cookie.
I feel your pain.
You should have SEEN what I did to my ice cream yesterday after finding out I am not allowed to have a half gallon of ice cream sitting into my freezer. I smashed it into the sink and down the drain it went. Darn you ice cream!
We had cookies in the office the other day, and I ate a quarter of one.. nibbled on it for a few minutes, and I was fine.
Maybe just do that? Unless that's going to set off your sweet tooth, I wouldn't do that.
I tried.
You ALL are so awesome!!! Thanks so much. Sometimes you just need someone to remind you what this is all for and how the end result is so much better than a temporary fix. Thanks also for the great suggestions for sweet treats that are still "calorie wise". I really appreciate the support.
I actually got pretty busy at work here after I sent my email, so your encouragement along with distractions have been very helpful. Yea me! Didn't get attacked by the Tiff's Treats cookie monster after all. But, I must remember, she will strike again!
It's just so great to know I've got support here. Thanks again!
I saw this post and I guess I'm very late in replying, but what I try to do everytime I have an intense craving that I just HAVE to resist because I know I need the calories for later is... keep a pack of gum or bag of tiny mints on hand.
So everytime it's like *the cookie's looking at me... and beckoning for me to eat it...* I take a deep breath ^o^ and stuff one in my mouth.
It's said that mint helps suppress the urge to eat (when you're not hungry) and it works for me.
Just thought I'd throw that out there 'cuz no one's mentioned it yet... I don't think.
DON’T!!!
I had a craving for chocolate the other day, and I did not resist – I was not feeling very well afterwards.
If you can (I can’t) Take just a small bite and then leave the rest.
But if I do that I usually end up eating just everything, so JUST DON’T!
I hope this helps…
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! DOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTT DO IT!!!!!!!!
if your craving chocolate grab a 90 calorie (ayayayayayaysayayayay!) chewy chocolate chip granola bar! Dont grab the cookies! you won't feel very satisfyed it you do....
