i just made an appt with planned parenthood and the receptionist was not helpful at all. But besides the point, I have a question if anyone know please do share. I'm currently on the nuvaring and have been for 2 years. I just had my annul exam done a few months ago with my gyno. I just moved out of state and need refill. I thought it was simple just to make an appointment and get my prescription. But if I get my period on the day of my appointment, do i need to reschedule if no exam is necessary and all i need is a prescription?
Reason: Moved to Health and Support.
The receptionist could not answer that question for you? I would presume that if no exam was necessary that you should keep your appointment and get your prescription. I would call back and say " I have an appointment scheduled for November __th, I am coming in for a refill of birth control, will I need an exam to get a refill because I am concerned I may have my period, when I come in"
Try to call back. Good Luck ![]()
i would just show up for the appointment you have. if you call, they might reschedule you (because, no, they can't do a pap if you have your period), and who knows how long you'll have to wait? get your prescription and reschedule the exam ;)
I've gotten a prescription when I was having my period. They asked that I make an appointment for the exam within the month and handed over the pills.
I wouldn't worry, just go.
I would think it shouldn't matter. I once asked my gyno if I would need to reschedule if I had my period on the day of my annual pap. I asked simply because it would be embarrassing for me. He said it wouldn't be a problem that the test could be performed either way.
