k so ive just now decided to become a vegitarian again because.. well basically i just think eating meat is disgusting. lol. plus that would really keep me away from alot of clearly unhealthy foods. hamburgers and such in particular. but anyways when i used to be a vegitarian i basically just ate unhealthily. i didn't think so at the time but now i realise that i hardly ever ate HEALTHY. so my question is what are some good vegitarian foods and food brands. i was never like a tofu vegitarian so i think it'd be healthier if i was this time. i tried to look it up on the web but it keeps coming back to me with things that i'm not really looking for. if you know of any good CHEAP vegi brands i should look for please let me know. or even if you just have some good reccomendations for vegi recipes or foods.

thanks in advance:)

hey my mom's a vegitarian, so our family doesn't eat a lot of meat. I really like Amy's Burritos and Moring Star Farm's products. The grillers and chic patties are really good (and very low cal).

Hope you find this helpful and good luck!

I'm losing weight, i've lost about 15 pounds. But I still haven't a slim stomach. I see people shorter than me who are are about 8 pounds lighter and their stomachs are flat. I eat my recommended calories every day, sometimes less and excercise every day. But on the tight shirt goes and the bulge sticks out. Any help? Reasons? Could that bulge be water weight? I'm trying to drink more water so....HELP!!!!

i want to lose 8-13 pounds more-by july.

I LOVE garden burgers. I think they taste way better than normal burgers and they're so much healthier, too. And I'm not even vegetarian.

Thanks. I found these tomato and basil pizza burgers at trader joes that i totally fell in love with. their only like 120 calories. but i totally agree, garden burgers are much better than meat.

It's really important to have a balanced diet, aka getting the right amounts / types of protein, fat and minerals.

Tofu is great, you can easily use it as a meat replacement in many meals, and it takes on the flavour of sauces and stuff. Best thing is a tofu and veggie stirfry. I prefer nutrisoy organic tofu; there's lots of brands, it really comes down to personal preference. But don't buy silken, it tastes yuck D:

Veggie sausages are good too, because they have iron and a lot of B vitamins. Best brand I find are Vegie Delights.

Make sure to have milk too, whether it's just normal milk, soy milk or rice milk etc. Calcium is really important.

Iron is too, you might like to try iron melts or something, just a daily supplement with a small bit of iron + vitamin C to help absorbtion.

Recipes are easy, and there are loads of vegetarian recipe sites out there. Vegetable curries with either chicpeas or lentils is great, so are pasta sauces with chicpeas, stirfries with tofu or tempeh, mexican chilli beans... Just take all the usual meat dishes, and replace the meat with either tofu, tempeh, lentils, chicpeas, seitan, veggie sausages, beans or TVP mince. Easy peasy!

Soy bacon is great and morning star farm products are great especially their veggie burgers.
