| 5/8 | cup (1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp) water |
| 1 | tsp cumin |
| 1 | tbsp chili powder |
| 1/4 | tsp cayenne pepper |
| 1 | tsp onion salt (109811) |
| 8 | medium (6 inch) flour tortilla or corn tortillas |
| 1/2 | cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese, shredded, |
| 1 | cup shredded lettuce |
| 1 | large tomato, diced |
| 1/4 | tsp hot pepper sauce, or less, to taste (6168) |
Recipe Directions for Quick Tacos
- Brown beef in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink. Drain fat.
- Add water, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and onion salt and simmer 2-4 minutes.
- Warm tortillas. Fill each tortilla with 1/4 cup taco meat, 2 tablespoons cheese, lettuce, tomato, and hot pepper sauce.
- Lower sodium variation: Use onion powder instead of onion salt.
