How much do you gain right before your period? I mean like the day before you get.

I have gained 3 pounds.

It has changed a lot with my weight loss. When I had a lot to lose (100+ pounds) it would be 5-8 pounds... now that I am close to goal, this month it was only 1 pound.

I usually notice 3-5 lbs., and it starts creeping up about a week before my period starts. But, I do notice that if I still with my calorie counting and working out, my weight is usually lower than when it started, at the end of TTOM.

 1-2 pounds.

5-8 pounds :-(

Definitely 3-5 for me.  And the scale will NOT budge until four days after.  i guess  its good though, keeps me on my toes every time to make sure that its not a true weight gain!

3-5 lbs. I find that the week of my period i eat a lot more salty food...and the body kind of naturally gets bloated so the two together usually makes me gain that . within a week of my period being over i usually get back to eating well and the weight plus more always comes off.

1-4lbs a couple days prior, then it takes til the very end to get rid of it!!

About a pound... my weightloss slows or stops, and then the next week or so I lose twice as much because my body lets go of the extra water all at once.

Same here! I'm up 3lbs! Ugh! Now I'm up 5lbs AND I have horrible cramps! CRUEL WORLD!!!!!!!!!

This thread came just in time to normalize me. I'm sooo bloated right now! I feel HUGE! I should just wait until it's over to weigh myself :p

I am always up 3-5 lbs around TTOM.  (I am about 5'7" 1/2" and 174 lbs.)

I never gain any weight as a result of TTOM. I didn't actually know anyone did until I started visiting weight-loss sites. Maybe it is because I work out so much. I've been working out consistently and hard for almost two decades, since I was 17. I also don't eat differently: I'm not prone to salt or sugar binges before or during. And I weigh 113, so that might have something to do with it, too. I don't know. But it does seem unusual not to gain something. It seems to be far more common to gain weight than not to.

Gosh I love when these threads seem to come at the most perfect times. I've been so frustrated telling myself not to freak about the 2-3 extra pounds (it's not real gain!) but it's more relieving when some divine entity plants a thread like this. :)

somewhere between 2-5 lbs. that's probably due to the salt though (I crave salty and sweet snacks)

Typically, I gain about 3-5 lbs.  This past month I gained almost 8.  It SUCKED.  None of my clothes fit... I just wanted to stay in my PJ's all day!

I'm so jealous! I blow up like a balloon & deflate just as fast. It's awful!

mine came a week early this time! i was at the gym like 2 hours ago and all of the sudden i just doubled over with pain (my cramps are comparable to labor pain says my doctors, possible endometreosis which is obviously spelled wrong but also not in my comnputers spell check haha) so i try and push myself to keep going but i gave up and went home. i usually know when my periods coming but it just came out of know where this time. and usually the cramps come in the middle of the night so i can take pills and sleep through it, but if its during the day, i'm pretty much drugged or incapacitated ahaha today sucks!

About 1-2 lbs

Does anyone else notice that you are hungrier during your first few days on your TOTM? This month, on the first two says, I was absolutley STARVING ALL DAY!!!!

For the first time in my life, I'm 32, I actually craved  chocolate and junk food during my TOM.  I guess since junk had pretty much been eliminated from my diet since starting CC last month the hormonal changes triggered the cravings.... and like you I was starving all day for the  past 2 days.  Yesterday I ate pretty badly and when I weighed myself this morning I was up 2 lbs, I hope it is just water weight!!!!

Being male I do not personally have TTOM, but since my partner suffers badly I tend to lose weight as do not eat as much as usual and shuld I head to the kitchen to source food I am promptly shouted at and have to just avoid the arguement.

Lose about 0.5 lbs due to TTOM
