Quick way of adding food to the food diary

Quote  |  Reply

Hi,

I am a newbie & tend to eat the same foods each day (with minor variations).  Is there a quick way to add foods I commonly eat to my food diary, other than adding each one again individually every day?

Thanks

G

yes, just "tag" the foods (click on the T to the right of the food ) , also you can tag groups of foods as long as you use the same tag name, for instance I eat a lot of oatmeal

so I have a group called oatmeal, then inside of it I have tagged: skim milk oatmeal equal

when I eat that I just click on my tagged foods, then on the + , select on what meal I am having it and voila !

Give them all the same tag title and they will appear together in a group under "tagged foods".

You should then be able to click on the plus sign next to the tag title and all the foods in that group will add to your log.

Thanks for the tip on tags!

If I consistently have a protein shake + latte + an apple for breakfast, I will add all of those values together and tag it as one item with a tag like breakfast.  Ijust use a calculator to add the calories for each, the sodium.....protein.

It takes a few minutes up front, but since I tend to eat the same exact thing for breakfast each day, it's much easier to just tag this summed item than to enter each one each day.

I have a "daily" tag as well as a "!collector" tag. Daily for, well, things I eat almost everyday. It's easier to delete then to locate and add so its longer than what I will have. The !collector is because my list of tags exceeded what cc allows and I lost onsey, twosey tags, so I collected them all together.

You could create a new recipe with the items you put in the shake or the oatmeal.  The only problem I have is that I can never get my recipes to actually show up in the My recipe section, so I just go back to the day before and use the + next to the item to add it again.

If anyone knows the secret to the recipe section working properly, let me know.

Do you save the recipe or just add it to food log?  After you enter your recipe you have to save it.  It's  hyper link in the text above the recipe.  You will then be directed to another screen where you enter the title of the recipe, a description and instructions.  If you haven't done that step, you haven't actually saved it.
