How to QUICKLY lose 10-20lbs!
Well, the first thing you have to decide is this:
Do you prefer your left leg or right leg?
It's that easy! Just choose which leg you prefer and cut the other one off! 10-20lbs gone just like that!
Is that too extreme? Here's method #2:
Restrict your calories to less than 1200 calories a day! Your body will soon burn up all your muscle mass -- just like that! Sure, you'll have a slower metabolism and become "skinny fat", but heck, you'll be losing weight -- and that's all you really wanted right? Oh, and who cares if you're malnutritioned? It'll all be worth it -- even when your skin dries up and your hair starts falling out.
Don't bother listening to any of the advice from others telling you to consume more than 1200 calories a day. They're not interested in your health or success! No -- they want to sabotage you! In any case, you're damn smart and don't need their advice! After all, you've done all the research, right? Exactly!
So, go on! Lose those pesky pounds!
**IN CASE IT WASN'T BLATANTLY OBVIOUS, I WAS BEING SARCASTIC IN ORDER TO GET A POINT ACROSS**
Wow....was that really called for? I know, I know....you are frustrated by what you read in the YCC forum, but really.......?
Absolutely.
Hahaha.
I'm pretty sure a leg weighs a bit more than 20 pounds. ;P
I think?
I dont like this thread.
I thought this site was about education; not pointless, sarcastic comments?
I like it. Sometimes it takes being a smartass to get the point across to some of these YCC'ers. She's absolutely right. How many times do you see a newbie some in here and try to argue that 800 cals a day is OK for them, because they are really short/slow metabolism/not growing etc etc. I think this post should be stickied right at the very top of the YCC page so it's the very first post they read.

I agree. Sometimes sarcasm is the only way to get through to some people! When you write it the way h2oxygen did, you see how crazy it really is!
P.S. I also thought it was funny.
Thank God somebody said it. Some of these kids are gonna kill themselves whining about having to eat 1200 a day. Bottom line you are a teenager your metabolism is fine go out and exercise but quit starving yourself and complaining because you are weak and tired!
Though the frustration and negativity is very visible, sarcasm always has a chance of sparking more negativity from the person you're trying to communicate with if it's taken the wrong way. :( I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing that will help.
However, I thought it was witty and informative in it's own way. Kudos, dahling!
kay - I honestly wasn't trying to "target" anyone here specifically. =)
cassie - Clearly you've missed the point. I can't help you there.
I'm glad some of you understand why I started this thread. Sometimes, this really is the only way to get through to people.
Honestly, I've seen good, kind hearted advice pretty much ignored here. I figured that if kind and gentle advice is ignored, sarcastic advice would at least be taken into consideration.
I actually think it wont help a bit. Coming from someone who has suffered and ED, I would take this thread as a bit insulting and would actually think that whoever wrote this was a bit mindless, really (no offense).
Sarcasm can only do so much....but to help someone? Not really. This and many more sarcastic comments on people with eating disorders will just make them bitter. They may stop posting threads here, but they'll just keep doing what they do.
I respect the fact that its really obnoxious to come across posts that are about "I eat 800 cals a day" , "omg I hate one scoop of ice cream, I wanna die"...but I still think sarcasm won't help much...mainly this people need to realize it on their own first, and coming across "negativity" will just make them get more clustered in their own feelings. Plus some of them do come here for help, so whats the point in making them feel like they're gonna be judge the wrong way for trying to reach out for help?
just an input dont take it agaisnt me, people.
The only problem is that I would have to remove BOTH legs to attain a "healthy weight," but then I would be shorter and my BMI would be recalculated even higher than before, which doesn't help me at all!!! What about organ removal?
As annoying as it is that you posted this...
...it actually really does make a lot of sense and struck a raw nerve in me.

Oh I understand that, no worries. By whom you're trying to communicate with, I mean the audience your post is intended for, ie the kiddos that are undereating.
Ms. Bananee does have a valid point, in most cases it takes the person on the other side to realize for themselves what they're doing wrong.. and sarcasm can really spark a certain determination to keep doing what they're doing because they know someone else views their habits negatively, or atleast has voiced their opinion in a disgruntling-for-the-other-person kind of way.
But on the other hand, I can defiantly see where the OP is coming from. If one method doesn't work (the nice way of saying "hey.. you're really hurting yourself doing this..") a little bit of a tougher version can help. Heavens know humor can create a lighter touch to the serious subject that needs to be put on the table in a tougher manner. ;)
I still like the post.
It amused me.
If it were said outloud, I would clap my hands and laugh. "Touche~! Touche~!"
Oi. Predicting personal reactions is too much trouble, I think.
It's called satire, boys and girls. It's used to get a point across and it WORKS. *gives OP high five*
I don't think I missed the point at all, and stand by what I said that posts/replys/whatever like this are NOT helpful.
There is an ingrained culture among not just teens, but many cultures/age groups etc that the less you eat, the more weight you'll lose. Having probably been a regular on this site for a while, you're lucky (through the patience of many other posters) to now be quite educated on the subject of healthy eating and sustainable weightloss.
Many people are not - otherwise why would they be here?! You willingly clicked on all these threads you seem to despise reading, then opened another thread mocking them!! Its just not helpful! Surely you can put yourself back in the position of feeling overweight/uncomfortable in your body and constantly being bombarded with conflicting and sometimes downright unhealthy messages and either have a little patience, or just ignore it!
(As another observation; do you really think some brain starved person who spends all day eating as little food as possible, thinking about calorie content and obsessing over scale numbers is really going to 'get' satire...?)
one of my friends had to get his right leg amputated from the midle of his thigh down, and he GAINED weight from it (from the metal prostetic and the lack of exercise), but he didn't decide to lop off his leg for real. So... technichally, cutting off a leg won't really help.
Just thought I'd throw that out there as well. Haha
cassie - Take a breather, lol. First of all, since when do you have access to my memories? I didn't learn everything I know about nutrition and healthy eating from this site. In fact, I took the time to read books, ask my doctor and attend classes about it. Also, I'm not referring to girls who are simply misinformed. I'm referring to girls who are consistently advised about how to eat healthily and still refuse to take this advice.
The last time I checked, I can read any thread I choose. Sometimes, the thread titles aren't indicative of what's inside the post (i.e. a title that says "Help, please!") and I end up reading them. Unfortunately, I have not yet devised a method to manipulate time and go back to before I read the posts.
Now, after reading these posts, I could have ignored them or spoken up. So, I chose to speak up. I'm sorry if it wasn't the usual kind, gentle, don't-worry-I'll-hold-your-hand post to which you're accustomed.
jackattack07 - *High fives back* Nice to see someone else who agrees with me!
bananee said "mainly this people need to realize it on their own first"
Well, sometimes, for some people, it takes being sarcastic (or mean if you want to see it that way) for a person to realize just how dumb they are being. So if this post helps even one person, I say job well done.
To add my two cents, which in today's economy may only amount to half of their original value, I think a lot of people want to believe that they are different, that while the 1200 calorie rule matters to everyone else, it doesn't apply to them. That's when I feel the need to do some shoulder shaking and why I was entertained and appreciative of the post at the top of this thread. Eating well, exercising, making healthy choices 90% of the time is hard. That's why we all hoot and holler when someone here shares that they met their goal to either gain or lose in healthy way. They worked hard, had a fair share of successes and failures along the way, and persevered.
So i say good on ya. And I'll also add, thanks for not taking it out on any one individual, but instead providing the stem of a great conversation. Thank goodness for a variety of ideas and opinions!
