Okay well here's the deal. I'm moving this weekend and stressing about everything. As a result, I'm eating. I know what I'm doing and why I'm doing it, but I can't seem to stop emotionally eating. I'm giving myself this weekend. Starting Monday it's back to healthy eating. But I just can't seem to stop it this weekend. Last night I ate what I wanted and added it up. I was shocked at what I'd eaten...but at least I knew why.
I really am stressing about this new change. I'm feeling like giving up on everything even though I know what I'm doing is for thebest. :::SIgh::: Thanks for listening to me whine and complain...again...that's all I seem able to do anymore...

hon, what can you do to make yourself feel better instead of eating? If you need to give yourself the weekend off, do it, but do it for the right reasons, not because you're pre-supposing failure. Stock up on healthy snacks so if you binge at least it will be on carrots and popcorn, and then hang in there. You can give yourself a break if you need to.
Oh, and taking care of yourself and getting out of a toxic and stressful environment isn't giving up, it's being healthy.

Well I hope you come back... but once you "leave" it makes it oh so much harder to come back... I wish you luck. Hopefully you can destress and work it all out.

im sending you many hugs, and i reckon in my short time being here iv complained far much more than you :P
anyways! i just want to say that you are not alone in feeling like giving up, ul be surpised as im sure ul see thru posts on this thread will build.
i feel like giving up when i see something "bad" that i want, or after iv just eaten it. and thats ok to feel it!!
but id urger you, if this is something you really really want DONT give up sweetie! you can do it!! you can u really can, its not about losing weight, its about ;earning to dela with ur emotions in a differnt sort of way, and over coming the "disaster" once its happened.
so, it may take many attemtps to learn how do cope a bit better (even if thats like cutting wat u eat by a few cals) , its a step, and the more you keep at it, the more of a reward you will get.
and healither body, feeling beter about urse,f and ore stablisations around stress.

I really hate to see you go, you've had a good start. Just see how the move goes and don't totally give up, but take it easy on yourself. When you get settled in, just sign back on and start again. Don't stress it - that will only make you eat more. Give yourself permission to stray and not count so strictly. We all will still probably be here when you come back.

I won't be leavin the site, I'm just taking the whole weekend off and not worrying about what I eat. I'm just so tired of trying.
this weekend is already shaping up to be stressful so i'm not going to add to my stress by having to count what I eat. I'm going to try to eat healthy, but I can't gaurantee anything.

Utah, ((((Hugs)))) You are doing great and are on the right track. Sometimes those tracks aren't as straight as we would like them to be. So get around this curve (watch the speed limit :) ) There might even be a hill or two to climb, but you have prooven you are tough and can DO IT!!!
Now, a must that you have to promise me you will do. The first morning in your new place, Sleep in as late as you want!!!! Oh it feels sooooooooo good to know that you are in your own space and no one to yell at you for sleeping to much or leaving you socks on the floor or a dirty dish in the sink. Now don't get carried away :) and mess up all your dishes before you wash any or anything like that ( I have done that :( No fun cleaning all that stuff at once. Learned my lesson there!!) Those boxes can wait a couple extra hours, they aren't going anywhere, right? ;)

Do what you need to do, eat what you want, as long as it is REAL food. Next week when things have settled down a bit come back and tell us all the moving stories!

HI utah. don't sweat the small stuff. Make your move, count those days as maintainance. I might even be a plus for the metabolism. Don't feel any guilt... that only leads to a frenzied cycle. guilt/eat for comfort/guilt/eat for comfort............
Put your tooth brush and toiletries,sheets,bedding,tylenal change of clothes and what ever else you want to find in 1 box and put a big red x on it and put it in the front seat of your car. Have someone set up your bed as soon as possible. When I moved up to Northern calif after getting my Nursing. My aunt, who was frail, called me while I was packing and told me what things to put in 1 box. When I arrived at her place, we all drove out to the little cottage that I was going to rent. While I was unloading boxes, she took the sheets and made up my bed. Then she put my toiletries away in the bathroom, tylenal in the medicine cabinet. TP on the TP roll. She took the can opener and bowl, spoon, kettle and put them in the appropriate places in the kitchen. She took the phone and plugged it in to the phone jack(no cell phones back in the stone age!). I have continued to do this with each subsequant move. It sure does help.
Don't think of this as quitting... think of this as a "time off"

Utah - you've already won the mental battle - you recognize why your eating and hey - moving is very physical work - lots of calories going to be burned there! Don't beat yourself up about it - no need to - you're not throwing in the towel you're setting it aside for the moment no harm in that. And we're always here for you! Thanks guys! I moved a little bit today, and will finish the rest tomorrow. I don't have a lot of things, so it will only take a day to get it done. Then I'm sleeping in on Sunday! LOL

It's not the most healthy stuff but i'm more aware of what's going into my mouth than ever before, but this weekend I refuse to count calories. It's a free weekend focused only on the move.
I appreciate all the advice and great tips! I'll be back shortly to tell you about my new place, and the healthy new foods I'm buying! (Maybe even a picture or two of the new digs!)

yes, I understand. I moved 2 months ago and it hasnot been good for my weight loss. Too many changes, toomany new things to deal with.

When you are stressed, it is OK... I say log it all in but get back on track on Monday.. It won't set you back that much!! **HUGS**
